What Is Bisquick?

Bisquick is an American staple found in any United States grocery store. It’s a combination of all-purpose flour, fat, leaving, and some salt.

The best thing about Bisquick is that you don’t have to make it yourself. It’s already mixed for you. Add some milk, water, or other ingredients, and you have either Biscuits, Pancakes, Waffles, or even muffins! The uses for Bisquick are endless.

And for everyone out there who follows a Gluten-Free Diet, Bisquick comes in a Gluten-Free version.

In a large mixing bowl, mix the Bisquick and milk mixture until well combined. Then roll out the dough using a rolling pin.

Use your biscuit cutters, and cut out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick circles.

Continue to make your Biscuits until you have run out of dough.

Biscuits In Air Fryer Basket

Place your biscuits into the Air Fryer Basket, set the temperature to 330 degrees F, air fryer setting for 5 to 8 minutes.

Pro Tips:

  • For best results, either use a parchment liner or a silicone mat to prevent the dough from sticking to the basket.
  • This recipe will work in any Air Fryer Basket or Oven Model, including the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, and Mealthy Lid. The cooking time may vary.
  • Try to make all of your biscuits about the same size, so that they all cook up at the same time.
  • You can either use a biscuit cutter or a drinking glass to cut the shape out.
  • Depending on what air fryer you own, you may have to flip halfway.

How To Make Homemade Bisquick

To make a regular batch of homemade Bisquick, you can use the following:

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening

Then in a food processor, blend all of the ingredients until it’s fully combined.

How To Make Homemade Gluten-Free Bisquick

To make a regular batch of homemade Gluten-Free Bisquick, you can use the following:

  • 3 cups of all-purpose gluten free flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of gluten-free baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening (make sure it’s gluten-free)

Then in a food processor, blend all of the ingredients until it’s fully combined.

How To Store Bisquick Biscuits

Let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container.

They will last for about 2 to 3 days, at room temperature, for any longer, place them into the refrigerator, where they will last for about a week.

How To Freeze Bisquick Biscuits

If you want to make a batch, they freeze rather well. Prepare them as directed below, and then place them on a greased baking sheet. Place the baking sheet into the freezer, and freeze until the biscuits are frozen solid.

Then remove them from the baking sheet, and place the frozen biscuit into a freezer bag. They will last for about 1 to 2 months.

To use from frozen: Place the frozen Biscuits into the Air Fryer Basket and set the temperature to 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes. Depending on what air fryer you own, you may have to flip halfway.
