How to Cook Frozen Chicken Drumsticks In Air Fryer

Step One: Set your air fryer to 380 degrees F (190°C) and preheat for 3-5 minutes. While the air fryer is preheating, lightly spray or brush the frozen chicken drumsticks with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, or any seasoning of your choice.

Step Two: Place the frozen drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. Air fry the chicken drumsticks at 380°F (190°C) set cook time for 25-30 minutes. Flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness.
Step Three: Once the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), it’s ready! If necessary, cook a few more minutes for extra crispiness. Let the drumsticks rest for a few minutes, then serve hot with your favorite sides.

Frozen Drumsticks In Air Fryer Recipe Tips
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Always preheat your air fryer before adding the chicken to ensure even cooking.
- Don’t Overcrowd: Place the drumsticks in a single layer without overcrowding them to ensure they cook evenly and get crispy.
- Use Olive Oil: Lightly spray or brush the drumsticks with olive oil to help the seasonings stick and create a crispy exterior.
- Flip Halfway: Flip the drumsticks halfway through the cooking time for even crisping on both sides.
- Check Internal Temperature: Ensure the internal temperature of the drumsticks reaches 165°F (74°C) for safety and the best texture.
- Season to Taste: Customize your seasoning blend for extra flavor! Garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika work great, but you can experiment with your favorite spices.
- Rest After Cooking: Let the drumsticks rest for a few minutes after cooking to lock in juiciness before serving.
Storing
Store leftover Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Drumsticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, place them back in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to crisp them up again.

Thank you! I needed to make the frozen (clumped together) drumsticks to go with a broccoli cheddar soup side and these came out perfect! I coated with a little olive oil, sprinkled Butter Garlic Seasoning all over, AF for 15, separated and turned, adding more seasoning. Did 10 more minutes, then rubbed a bit of butter on each one and sprinkled with garlic salt and cooked 2 more minutes. Delicious!

Not a comment so much as a question: When do you use the lemon juice/minced garlic seasoning in the cooking process?

Our frozen drumsticks came out perfectly crispy and juicy! Added BBQ Chicken sauce at the end as suggested and my 8 year old son loved them as did my husband. It’s one of our favourite weekly recipes 😊

Was once again scrambling for something for dinner as I saw I was out of leftovers, everything was frozen & couldn’t do breakfast for dinner again & found this! YEAH because frozen chicken I had if nothing else. Doused it with Old Bay seasoning, threw it in 2 batches, made salad, a butter pasta & everybody was happy… especially the cook. Can go ahead & make dinner without freaking out everything is still frozen! Thank you
Maureen

How are there no ratings for this easy and delicious recipe? Straightforward cooking with great seasoning options. I’m pretty much a salt, pepper, garlic powder guy so I was looking for a “how to” and this did the trick perfectly. Thank you for taking the time to perfect and publish this recipe.

My taste exactly. Not fancy, just good. Returned home after last bit of Xmas shopping. Wife asked me to fix something guick. Stumbled upon this chicken recipe.
Made a quick salad while the chicken was cooking.
About an hour later we sat down to dinner. WOW!!!
What a tastey chicken, much better than the 50 or better chicken restaurants near us.
Unfortunately the wife now thinks I’m a good cook, at least for chicken, and belong in the kitchen.
This and slight variations is now our go to chicken dish. We stared off wih frozen chicken so I increased the time about 20 minute, checking occasionally for doneness.
Thank to all involved.
