Pro Tips:

Cheese-Sticks: One of the biggest problems that people have when making mozzarella sticks is that low-fat does not work. Since low-fat mozzarella sticks contain less fat, you will end up with a gummy texture. So, for best results use full-fat mozzarella string cheese.

Freeze: Make sure that you fully freeze these, you want them completely solid, before air frying them. Otherwise, they will fall apart.

Parchment Paper: I have found over the years that using parchment paper, really helps the coating stay on the cheese sticks. You can also use an air fryer reusable silicone liner.

Crowding: Working in batches is the way to go if you want these cheese sticks crispy on both sides. I found that they’re easier to flip them as well.

Flipping: Depending on where your heating element is located, you may need to flip these halfway during the cooking process, so both sides cook up to perfection.

Recipe Variations:

Who doesn’t love mozzarella sticks? They’re the perfect snack for any occasion. And now, thanks to this nacho coating, they’re even better. This easy-to-make coating gives your mozzarella sticks a crispy exterior and a cheesy, flavorful interior. So whether you’re having friends over for a casual get-together or looking for something to serve at your next big party, these nacho-coated mozzarella sticks are sure to be a hit.

Here are some alternative coatings you can use:

How To Store:

Keep your favorite mozzarella sticks fresh and crispy by storing them in the refrigerator for up to three days.

You can use the air fryer to reheat and re-crisp the mozzarella sticks, for best results, and to help re-crisp the mozzarella sticks, spray them gently with cooking spray.

How To Freeze (How To Stock Your Freezer With Homemade Air Fryer Mozarella Sticks)

If you want to keep your mozzarella sticks frozen for up three months. Prepare them as directed and then let them freeze until frozen.

Place the frozen mozzarella sticks into a freezer-safe container or freezer bag. You can either cook them in the air fryer or the oven.
