Ingredients Needed
- Tortillas: Use either corn or flour; both large and medium sizes.
- Hamburger Patty: Use fresh or frozen patties; ensure they are fully cooked.
- Cheese: Use any of your favorite cheeses. Some other great options would be Colby Jack or Monterey Jack.
- Bacon: You can use turkey, candied, or regular bacon.
- Tater Tots: Use either fresh or frozen tater tots that are fully cooked.
- Doritos: I used regular Nacho Cheese Doritos, but use any of your favorite Doritos flavors.
- Sauce: I used a combination of sriracha hot sauce and mayonnaise.
How To Make Air Fryer Cheeseburger Crunch Wrap
Step One: Begin by preparing your hamburger patty, bacon, and tater tots. Set aside. In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise and the sriracha to make the sauce. Stir until well and thoroughly combined.
Step Two: Add a tablespoon of the sauce in the center of the large flour tortilla and spread out.
Step Three: On top of the sauce, add the hamburger patty. Next, break up the bacon pieces and add them to the top of the hamburger patty. Push the bacon down as much as needed to create a flat surface.
Step Four: Finish layering the burger wrap by adding the tater tots, cheese, and Doritos. Again, push down to create a compact, flat surface.
Step Five: Finally, add the smaller tortilla on top of the layered ingredients. Fold the overhanging corners from the larger tortilla around the smaller tortilla.
Step Six: Place the wrap, seam down, in an air fryer basket sprayed with olive oil. Spray the wrap with olive oil as well. Air fry for 4-6 minutes at 400F until golden brown. Flip the wrap halfway and spray again with olive oil. Allow cooling slightly so the tortillas keep their shape.
Air Fryer Cheeseburger Crunch Wrap Recipe Tips
- Use Fresh Tortillas: For the best texture, use soft flour tortillas. They’ll wrap around your ingredients more easily and crisp up nicely in the air fryer.
- Customize Your Fillings: Feel free to add extra toppings like pickles, onions, or lettuce to suit your taste. You can also swap out the bacon for another protein, like grilled chicken or sausage.
- Don’t Overstuff: While it’s tempting to pack in all your favorite ingredients, avoid overstuffing the wrap, as this can make it hard to seal and may result in a messier cook. Aim for a balanced layer of fillings.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: For an even cook and crispier finish, preheat your air fryer for a few minutes before adding the wrap.
- Spray with Oil: Lightly spray the outside of the wrap with olive oil or cooking spray before air frying to get that golden-brown, crispy exterior. Flip the wrap halfway through to ensure even crisping.
- Serve Immediately: For the best texture and flavor, serve your Air Fryer Cheeseburger Crunch Wrap right away while it’s crispy and hot.
- Experiment with Cheese: Try different cheese types like cheddar, American, or Swiss for varied flavors. You can even use a combination for extra richness!
Storing
- Storing: To store your Air Fryer Cheeseburger Crunch Wrap, wrap it tightly in foil or plastic wrap and place it in an airtight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
- Freezing: If you’d like to freeze the crunch wraps, wrap each one tightly in plastic wrap and then foil to prevent freezer burn. They can be frozen for up to 1-2 months and reheated later.
- Reheating: To reheat, place the crunch wrap in the air fryer at 350°F for about 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness. Alternatively, you can reheat in a conventional oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or until heated through.
What To Serve With Air Fryer Cheeseburger Crunch Wraps
Air Fryer Cheeseburger Crunch Wraps are a satisfying meal on their own, but they pair wonderfully with a variety of sides. For a classic pairing, serve them with crispy fries or air-fried potato wedges to complement the crunch of the wrap. A fresh, zesty salad with a tangy vinaigrette balances the richness of the wrap, while pickled vegetables or coleslaw add a refreshing contrast. If you’re in the mood for more indulgence, pair them with nachos or a side of onion rings for a fun, loaded meal. These sides will elevate the wrap into a delicious, well-rounded feast!
