- Olive Oil: You won’t need a ton of oil, but I do like to add a bit to the steaks before adding the seasoning.

Pro Tips for Making Sirloin in Air Fryer
- Take the steaks out of the fridge about 20-30 minutes before you plan on cooking them. Room-temperature meat will cook more evenly.
- Pat the sirloin dry with paper towels before you add the seasonings. This helps ensure a nice sear on your air fryer sirloin steak.
- Don’t crowd your air fryer basket — cook in batches if you need to! If you overload the basket, the hot air won’t be able to circulate properly, resulting in unevenly cooked sirloin.
- Double-check for doneness with a meat thermometer. An instant-read thermometer is the most reliable way to make sure your sirloin steak in air fryer is cooked to your preferred temperature. Refer to the guide below to determine what temp you need to get it up to for safe eating.
- Resting time is key. Letting your steak rest for 5-10 minutes after cooking will give the juices a chance to redistribute, which will give you more tender and flavorful results. Be patient and don’t skip this important step!
How Long to Cook Sirloin Steak in Air Fryer?
As I mentioned above, it depends on how you like your steak:
- Medium-Rare: 8-10 minutes in total, 130-135 degrees F internal temp
- Medium: 10-12 minutes in total, 135-140 degrees F internal temp
- Well-Done: 12-15 minutes in total, 155 degrees F or more internal temp
Start by cooking the steak on 1 side for about 5 minutes, then adjust the remaining cooking time to your liking.
Sirloin Steak Air Fryer FAQs
Your air fryer cooks food by circulating very hot air around it, so technically, you don’t need to flip air fryer sirloin steak in order for it to cook all the way through. That said, I always flip my steaks. I find that it cooks up a lot better.
400 degrees F is the sweet spot for this sirloin steak recipe! Make sure that the meat has an internal temperature of at least 130 degrees F to avoid any foodborne illnesses.
Overcooking sirloin steak in air fryer will cause it to become tough and chewy. Make sure to pay attention to the cooking time!
