Why I Love Old Fashioned Pork Chops in the Air Fryer

Breaded pork chops are a really easy meal to make in the air fryer. They only take about 20 minutes from start to finish. This is one of the easiest dinners you can make in the air fryer, and it’s a popular dish with kids, just serve it alongside a dipping sauce.

The air fryer does a great job of keeping the outside light and crispy while keeping the juiciness of the pork chop. This is a really light breading made with panko bread crumbs and cornflakes and a few spices.

Air fryer pork chops are perfectly crispy and crunchy. The secret to the crispiness of this dish is the egg. The egg really does a great job of coating the pork chops before the breading.

These tender breaded pork chops in the air fryer can go with anything. Serve them with a simple salad, some roasted potatoes, or anything else that you have on hand. It’s a blank slate for your meal!

  • Pork Chops – Bone-In or Boneless, both work perfectly fine.
  • Egg – this is what helps all the crispiness stick to the pork chop.
  • Bread Crumbs – I love Panko bread crumbs for pork chops as they’re lovely and light. If you can’t find them, regular breadcrumbs will work.
  • Cornflake Crumbs – This is what gives the real crunch to the breaded pork chops. If you don’t want to buy the crumbs, you can blend or smash up some ordinary cornflakes!
  • Sweet Paprika – This isn’t spicy, it’s a little bit fruity, a little bit tart, and perfectly sweet. If you do like it hot n spicy, you can always add some chili powder!
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Chili Powder
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper

How to Make Air Fryer Breaded Pork Chops

On a wooden table lay eggs on top of a kitchen towel. There is a white bowl with 1 egg inside and the shell is sitting next to the bowl on the table.

Start by seasoning the pork chops with salt and pepper. Then in one bowl, crack the egg and beat it.

A brown bowl is sitting on a wooden surface. The bowl is filled with panko breadcrumbs, cornflake crumbs, sweet paprika, garlic, onion and chili powder.

In another bowl, mix together the panko bread crumbs, cornflake crumbs, sweet paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.

Then dredge your pork chop into the egg. And then into the seasoning mix.

As you coat the pork chops with the seasoning mix, place them on a sprayed tray or basket (either non-stick cooking spray or olive oil). Use olive oil and spray your coating mix, otherwise, your coating will end up dry and with white or brown spots.

Place your tray or basket in the air fryer, and set the temperature to 360°F, for 6 minutes, after 6 minutes, flip your pork chop, spray again with olive oil, and set the timer for another 6 minutes.
