- Ginger: Ground ginger spice for a subtle zesty kick.
- Ground Nutmeg: A pinch of ground nutmeg for aromatic warmth.
- Ground Cloves: Ground cloves to add depth and spiced aroma.
How To Make Air Fryer Rum Soaked Pineapple

Step One: Combine rum, pineapple, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves in a large bowl. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for one hour to let the flavors meld.

Step Two: Arrange the pineapple rings in the air fryer basket or on the tray. Cook at 350°F for 5 minutes until lightly caramelized.
Step Three: Once 5 minutes are done, brush the pineapple with the rum marinade. Return to the air fryer and cook at 400°F for 3 minutes to caramelize.

Air Fryer Rum Soaked Pineapple Recipe Tips
- Choose your pineapple wisely: Fresh pineapple gives the best texture, but canned works well in a pinch.
- Marinate for maximum flavor: Let the pineapple soak in the rum mixture at least 1 hour, or overnight for a deeper taste.
- Don’t skip brushing: Brushing the pineapple with the marinade halfway through cooking creates a caramelized, glossy finish.
- Adjust sweetness: Add more or less brown sugar depending on your preferred level of sweetness.
- Watch the air fryer: Cooking times can vary by model—keep an eye to prevent burning while achieving a golden caramelization.
Storing and Make Ahead Instructions
- Storing: Store cooked pineapple in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave until warmed through.
- Make Ahead: Marinate the pineapple in rum and spices up to 24 hours before cooking. This allows flavors to deepen and makes air fryer cooking even quicker.

Air Fryer Rum Soaked Pineapple Recipe Faqs
Can I use fresh pineapple instead of canned? Absolutely! Fresh pineapple works beautifully in this recipe and gives a juicier, slightly tangier flavor than canned.
Do I have to use rum? No, you can substitute pineapple juice, orange juice, or apple juice for a kid-friendly or alcohol-free version.
Can I prepare the pineapple ahead of time? Yes! Marinate the pineapple in the rum and spices up to 24 hours ahead, then air fry when ready.
How long does it keep? Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat briefly in the air fryer or microwave before serving.
Can I grill this instead of using an air fryer? Definitely! Place the marinated pineapple on a hot grill for 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized.
