Hot or Cold Pineapple Appetizer
At parties and on holidays, I love putting out a few things that my guests can help themselves with while cooking.
While I try to give a mix of hot and cold items, this recipe for bacon-wrapped pineapple chunks is delicious straight off the air fryer, but they still keep all their flavors at room temperature. You can serve them either hot or cold. Both ways are amazing!
What Bacon To Use
I used regular bacon, and I recommend using either thin bacon or center cut. The thicker the bacon, the longer the air fryer will cook up.
Turkey bacon would work well, but the cooking time will be decreased by a few minutes.
Some great flavors to try are:
- Maple Bacon
- Black Pepper Bacon
- Applewood Bacon
- Hardwood Smoked Bacon
Canned Or Fresh Pineapple?
Either will work. I love keeping some canned pineapple on hand for this recipe, and it makes for a quick and delicious snack!
Using Toothpicks In The Air Fryer
I often use toothpicks in my air fryer without any trouble. But for best results, I would soak your toothpicks into the water for about 10 to 15 minutes before using them in the air fryer. But remember to check your owner’s manual, for safety concerns, about using them in your air fryer since every air fryer is slightly different.
Does The Bacon Get Crispy All Through?
Yes, you will get a fabulous and delicious piece of bacon wrapped around the pineapple.
Can I Use Canned Pineapple For This Recipe?
You can use either pineapple rings, pineapple bites, or even canned. This is a great recipe that is so easy. If you use canned pineapple, make sure that you drain the can and leave it on a piece of paper towel, to let it drain for a while. This will help you get a better appetizer.
