Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil, and as you make your bacon-wrapped onion rings, add them to the air fryer basket.
Set the temperature to 375 degrees F, and air fry, with a cook time for 8-10 minutes.
Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings Recipe Tips
- Use Thin-Cut Bacon: Use thin-cut bacon to make wrapping easier and ensure the bacon crisps up nicely. Thick bacon may not cook through as well and can become chewy.
- Secure with Toothpicks: Secure the bacon with toothpicks to keep it in place while cooking. This helps prevent the bacon from unraveling and ensures a consistent wrap.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Arrange the onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and less crispy results. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Check for Doneness: Cooking times can vary based on the thickness of the bacon and the size of the onion rings. Check periodically and adjust the cooking time as needed to achieve a crispy, golden-brown finish.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy the onion rings right after cooking for the best texture and flavor. They are most delicious when hot and crispy.
Air fryer bacon wrapped onion rings recipe variations
One of the easiest ways to change this recipe is to add some low-carb BBQ sauce and then brush it on top. Low carb sauces come in various blends, and my favorites are Sweet BBQ sauce and, of course, Sugar-Free Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce.
The other ways to add it up would be to add some seasonings. I love adding some garlic or onion powder, and for a real treat, add some Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasonings.
