Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer SmashBurger Smash Tots

- Russet Potatoes
- All-Purpose Flour
- Garlic Powder
- Dried & Fresh Rosemary
- Sea Salt
- Black Peppercorn
- Olive Oil
How To Make Air Fryer SmashBurger Smash Tots

Wash and peel potatoes. Add potatoes to a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil, then parboil the potatoes for 7 minutes. Drain potatoes and set them aside to cool.

Shred potatoes, then using a cheesecloth, remove as much liquid as possible. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F, air fryer setting. Line air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper.

Add shredded potatoes to a mixing bowl, then add flour and mix well. Add two teaspoons garlic powder, one teaspoon dried rosemary, one teaspoon sea salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper to potatoes and mix well.

Scoop one tablespoon of potato mixture, then using your hands, roll into a firm ball, then shape to tot form. Place tots in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each one. Spray with cooking oil.
Cook for 15 minutes or until golden brown, then remove from the basket and add to a mixing bowl. Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle the rest of the seasonings over the top, and toss.
Garnish with fresh rosemary and serve.

Pro Tips:
- For best results, make sure that there is plenty of room left around the basket so that the tater tots can be perfectly air-fried.
- Use parchment paper or spray your air fryer basket, so the tater tots do not stick to the basket.
- This recipe will work in any air fryer, including the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex Plus, and other air fryer models. The cooking temperature will be the same, but the time may vary by a few minutes.
- Try to make the tater tots the same size so that they all cook up simultaneously.
How To Store Leftover Air Fryer SmashBurger Smash Tots
If you have any leftovers, let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container. They should last in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days.
You can reheat them in the air fryer or microwave. For added crispness, you can spray the tops of the tater tots with cooking spray.
How To Freeze Homemade Tater Tots:
These are a great make-ahead and a great way to stock up your freezer, and they make a great snack when the craving hits.
To freeze, let them cool to room temperature and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the baking sheet into the freezer until the tater tots are frozen solid. Remove the frozen tater tots and put them into a freezer bag. They will last for about a month.
To cook from frozen, place them into the air fryer basket and set the temperature to 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 8 to 10 minutes.
