This Air Fryer Pizza Dip is everything you love about pizza — melty mozzarella, sharp cheddar, garlicky cream cheese, and crispy pepperoni — turned into a hot, scoopable appetizer ready in just 17 minutes. One bowl, one air fryer, and zero leftovers.

If pizza night and dip night had a baby, this would be it. I started making this Air Fryer Pizza Dip the first football season we owned an air fryer, and it has held its spot on our snack-table rotation ever since. The cream cheese base goes silky in the heat, the mozzarella stretches into ridiculous cheese pulls, and the pepperoni curls up into those crispy little cups that everyone fights over.
The best part? It’s done in 17 minutes from cold bowl to bubbly dip. No oven preheat, no dishes piling up, no babysitting. Just mix, scoop into ramekins, and air fry until the top is golden and the kitchen smells like a pizzeria.
If you love dips as much as I do, try my Instant Pot buffalo chicken dip which is hearty and filling, or go for a lighter Sriracha maple dip or jalapeno cranberry dip if you’re looking for something light and easy.
But this one — this one is the request I get most often.
Why You’ll Love This Air Fryer Pizza Dip
- Tastes like real pizza. Every bite has cheese, pepperoni, garlic, and Italian seasoning — the pizza flavor is unmistakable.
- Ready in 17 minutes. 10 minutes to mix, 5–7 minutes to air fry. No oven preheat to wait on.
- Made in one bowl. Mix everything in a single bowl, scoop into ramekins, and you’re done.
- Endlessly customizable. Swap cheeses, add sausage, throw in jalapeños — it works with almost anything.
- Perfect party portions. Individual ramekins mean no double-dipping and built-in portion control.

Why Make Pizza Dip in the Air Fryer?
People ask me this all the time. Yes, you can absolutely make pizza dip in the oven — but the air fryer wins for three reasons:
- Speed. 5–7 minutes versus 20–25 in the oven. No preheating either.
- Browning. The circulating hot air gives you that golden, blistered cheese top in a fraction of the time.
- Crispy pepperoni. The air fryer crisps and curls the pepperoni in a way the oven can’t quite match — those crunchy edges are worth the effort alone.
If you’re feeding a bigger crowd, batch it. Two rounds of ramekins still beats one oven bake on time.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Nothing fancy — most of this is probably in your fridge already.

- Cream cheese— full-fat is best for that rich, silky base. Bring it to room temperature for easy mixing.
- Mayonnaise — classic full-fat mayo. It’s the secret to a creamy, not-too-tangy dip.
- Sour cream — adds tang and lightens the texture. Greek yogurt is a fine swap.
- Italian seasoning— the pizza-flavor workhorse.
- Onion powder, salt, black pepper — background flavor.
- Fresh minced garlic — use fresh if you have it; ¼ teaspoon garlic powder works in a pinch.
- Shredded mozzarella — for the stretchy cheese pull. Low-moisture, part-skim works best.
- Shredded cheddar — adds sharpness and that classic golden color on top.
- Pepperoni slices — regular or mini. Mini cups up beautifully in the air fryer.
Pro tip: shred your own cheese from a block. Pre-shredded cheese is coated in anti-caking agents that keep it from melting into smooth, stretchy pulls.
Variations & Substitutions
- Meaty: add cooked, crumbled Italian sausage or top with crispy bacon bits.
- Loaded veggie: stir in diced bell pepper, sautéed mushrooms, red onion, or sliced black olives.
- Spicy: add diced pickled jalapeños, a pinch of crushed red pepper, or a swirl of hot honey before serving.
- Marinara swirl: spoon a few tablespoons of marinara into the middle before air frying for a true pizza-sauce layer.
- Lighter: swap full-fat cream cheese and mayo for the reduced-fat versions, or use cottage cheese in place of sour cream (blend it first for smoothness).
- Keto / low-carb: the recipe is already low-carb. Serve with sliced cucumber, bell pepper strips, or pork rinds instead of bread.
How to Make Air Fryer Pizza Dip
Three steps. That’s it.

Step 1: Mix the base. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayo, sour cream, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, pepper, minced garlic, all of the cheddar, and 1 cup of the mozzarella. Stir until completely smooth. A hand mixer makes this even faster and gives you a fluffier final texture.

Step 2: Fill the ramekins. Spoon the mixture into oven-safe ramekins until each is about ¾ full. Top with the remaining ½ cup mozzarella, then layer pepperoni slices on top. Press the pepperoni in slightly so it doesn’t blow around in the air fryer.
Step 3: Air fry. Place the ramekins in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F for 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted, bubbling at the edges, and golden on top. The pepperoni should be crisp with curled edges.
Carefully lift the ramekins out with tongs (they will be hot), garnish with fresh basil or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning, and serve immediately.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Pizza Dip
- Soften the cream cheese fully — straight from the fridge it leaves lumps that won’t fully mix out.
- Top the pepperoni with a little cheese to anchor it. Without that, the air fryer’s circulation can lift the slices and dump them at the bottom of the basket.
- Don’t skip the resting minute. Pull the ramekins, give them 60 seconds, and the cheese sets just enough to scoop cleanly without burning anyone’s mouth.
- Air fryers vary. Start checking at 5 minutes — basket-style fryers run hotter than oven-style ones.
- No ramekins? Any small oven-safe dish that fits your basket works. Mini cast iron skillets are my favorite.
- For an extra crispy top, sprinkle a thin layer of grated parmesan on right before air frying.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Cold cream cheese. Lumps now mean lumps forever. Soften it.
- Overfilling the ramekin. It bubbles over and burns onto the basket. ¾ full, no more.
- Skipping the cheese anchor. Pepperoni without cheese on top will fly around.
- Too high a temperature. Above 400°F and the top burns before the center melts.
Storage & Reheating
- Refrigerate: Cool completely, cover the ramekins with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container. Keeps for up to 4 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer: 350°F for 3–4 minutes until warmed through and the top is bubbly again.
- Reheat in the microwave: 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until heated through.
- Freeze: Not recommended — the dairy can separate and turn grainy after thawing.

What to Serve With Pizza Dip
This dip plays well with almost any dipper. My favorites:
- Pretzel rods or soft pretzel bites
- Crusty sourdough or warm Italian pull-apart rolls
- Toasted baguette slices brushed with garlic butter
- Tortilla chips, pita chips, or bagel chips
- Air fryer pizza puffs or mozzarella sticks (double the fun)
- Sliced bell peppers, cucumber rounds, or celery sticks for a lighter option
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make pizza dip in the oven instead? Yes. Preheat to 375°F, transfer the mixture to a baking dish or oven-safe skillet, top with cheese and pepperoni, and bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Can I make this pizza dip ahead of time? Absolutely. Mix everything, transfer to the ramekins, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Add the pepperoni right before air frying. You may need to add 1–2 extra minutes of cook time since you’re starting cold.
What size ramekins work best? 6 to 8 ounce ramekins are ideal. They fit most air fryer baskets and serve 1–2 people each. If you only have one larger dish, that works too — just add 2–3 minutes to the cook time.
Can I use a different cheese? Yes. Provolone, fontina, Monterey Jack, or a pizza blend all work beautifully. Just keep mozzarella as part of the mix — it gives you the signature stretch.
Can I freeze pizza dip? I don’t recommend it. The cream cheese and sour cream tend to separate and turn grainy when thawed. Make it fresh — it only takes 17 minutes anyway.
Is this pizza dip keto-friendly? Yes, the dip itself is naturally low-carb. Just choose low-carb dippers like sliced vegetables, pork rinds, or cheese crisps instead of bread or chips.
