Air Fryer Pancake Bites Recipe Tips

  • Don’t Overfill the Molds: Fill each cavity about ¾ full to give the bites room to rise without overflowing.
  • Grease the Mold Well: Lightly spray the egg bite mold with nonstick spray or brush with oil to prevent sticking.
  • Use a Thick Batter: A slightly thicker pancake batter works best—thin batters may spill over or cook unevenly.
  • Add Fillings Last: Drop mix-ins like chocolate chips, fruit, or sausage into each mold after filling with batter for even distribution.
  • Check Doneness Early: Air fryer models vary, so start checking at 5 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean when they’re done.
  • Cool Before Removing: Let the bites cool for a minute or two before removing from the mold to keep their shape intact.
  • Double Batch? Rotate the Mold: If you’re making multiple batches, rotate or flip the mold halfway through for even browning if your air fryer has hot spots.

Storing

  • Storing: Let pancake bites cool completely, then store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Keep them layered with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Freezing: Place cooled pancake bites on a baking sheet to flash freeze for 1 hour, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container. They’ll stay fresh for up to 2 months.
  • Reheating: Reheat pancake bites in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes until warmed through. You can also microwave them for 20–30 seconds for a quicker option.

Air Fryer Pancake Bites pair perfectly with a variety of sweet and savory sides to round out your breakfast or brunch. Serve them with fresh fruit like berries or banana slices for a refreshing balance, or add a side of scrambled eggs and crispy bacon for a hearty, protein-packed meal.

A drizzle of maple syrup or a dusting of powdered sugar adds extra sweetness, while a dollop of yogurt or whipped cream makes them feel extra special. Whether you’re feeding kids or hosting a brunch, these pancake bites are versatile and easy to customize to everyone’s taste.

Air Fryer Pancake Bites Recipe Faqs

Can I make Air Fryer Pancake Bites with different flavors? Yes! You can easily add chocolate chips, blueberries, or even cinnamon to the batter for fun variations. Just mix in your desired add-ins before spooning the batter into the molds.

Can I use pancake mix instead of homemade batter? Absolutely! You can use store-bought pancake mix. Just follow the instructions on the package and adjust the consistency to make sure the batter is thick enough for the bites to hold their shape.

How do I prevent the pancake bites from sticking to the mold? Spray your air fryer basket or silicone molds lightly with non-stick cooking spray to ensure the pancake bites don’t stick. You can also use parchment paper liners for easier removal.

Can I make these in advance? Yes! You can prep the pancake bites ahead of time and store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat them in the air fryer or microwave when you’re ready to serve.

How do I make sure the pancake bites are cooked through? Check that the pancake bites are golden brown and firm to the touch on the outside. You can also insert a toothpick—if it comes out clean, they’re done!

Notes

Pro Tips:

  • This recipe will work in any Air Fryer Basket or Oven model. I have made these numerous times over the years in different air fryers, including the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, GoWise, Secura, PowerXL, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, and even the Mealthy Lid. The recipe works the same; the cooking time may vary.
  • For best results, only fill the egg molds about 2/3 the way full. If you fill them further, they will either be raw on the bottom or rise too much in the Air Fryer.
