Air Fryer Banana Cream Pie Recipe Tips

  • Cool Crust Completely: Let the air-fried pie shells cool before adding the pudding to prevent sogginess.
  • Use Ripe Bananas: Sweet, ripe bananas give the best natural flavor and texture.
  • Prepare Pudding Smoothly: Whisk the pudding thoroughly to avoid lumps and achieve a creamy filling.
  • Add Toppings Last Minute: Top with whipped cream and banana slices just before serving for freshness.
  • Chill Before Serving: Refrigerate the filled pies for at least 30 minutes to set the pudding.
  • Optional Garnishes: Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, or chocolate shavings for extra flair.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the pudding in advance, then assemble just before serving to save time.

Storing and Make Ahead Instructions

  • Storing: Store assembled banana cream pies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Keep the whipped cream and banana slices on top fresh by adding them just before serving.
  • Make-Ahead: Prepare the pudding and pie shells in advance, then refrigerate until ready to assemble. Add the whipped cream and banana garnish right before serving for best texture and flavor.

Air Fryer Banana Cream Pie Recipe Faqs

Can I make this pie without an air fryer? Yes! Bake the pie shells in a conventional oven at 350°F for 5–7 minutes until lightly golden.

How long does the pie last? Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days for best freshness.

Can I use frozen bananas? Fresh, ripe bananas are best for texture and flavor. Thawed frozen bananas may release extra liquid and make the filling runny.

Can I use instant pudding? Absolutely! Instant pudding works perfectly and makes this dessert even quicker.

Can I add toppings? Yes! Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, or chocolate shavings for extra flavor and presentation.
