How To Make Blackstone Monkey Bread

Preparing the ingredients for the Blackstone Griddle cooking.

Step One: Spray your baking pan with cooking spray. Preheat your Blackstone Griddle to the lowest setting. Open the can of Grands biscuits and pull each one apart. Cut each biscuit into 8 triangle pieces.

: Cutting biscuit dough into quarters and mixing with cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar until evenly coated.

Step Two: In a medium bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together.

Step Three: Take a few of the triangle biscuit pieces and coat them thoroughly in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Toss the coated biscuit pieces into the greased baking pan. Continue until all the biscuits are coated and placed into the pan. Sprinkle any leftover cinnamon sugar over the coated biscuits in the pan.

Place coated biscuits into the baking pan.

Step Four: Drizzle the melted butter over the biscuits and cinnamon-sugar mixture in the pan. Place the baking rack with the pan on top of the Blackstone Griddle. Cover everything with a dome lid. Let the monkey bread bake for about 50 minutes. After 50 minutes, check for doneness. If the bread needs more time, turn the griddle to medium and continue cooking until the bread is fluffy and easily pulls apart. Once cooked, drizzle with cream cheese icing if desired and serve hot for a sweet treat!

Blackstone Monkey Bread Recipe Tips

🍩 Use Fresh Biscuits: For the best texture, use fresh, refrigerated biscuit dough like Grands. They rise beautifully and create the perfect fluffy texture.

🧂 Customizable Flavors: Feel free to experiment with additional spices like nutmeg, vanilla extract, or even a pinch of cardamom to add more depth to the flavor.

🧴 Grease the Pan Well: To ensure the monkey bread doesn’t stick, make sure to spray your pan with cooking spray before adding the dough.

🌡️ Check for Doneness: Every griddle heats differently, so check the bread after 50 minutes. If it’s not done yet, let it cook a bit longer, keeping the lid on to lock in moisture.

🍯 Drizzle the Icing: Once the monkey bread is done, drizzle with cream cheese icing for an extra touch of sweetness! You can even top with crushed nuts or caramel sauce for a fun twist.

📜 Parchment Paper: Always use parchment paper beneath the rack on the griddle to avoid burning or adding a smoky flavor to your monkey bread.

Storing

🧊 Storing: Store leftover Blackstone Monkey Bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

❄️ Freezing: For longer storage, freeze the cooled monkey bread in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 2 months. To reheat, simply bake it in the oven or air fryer until warm.

🔥 Reheating: Reheat by placing the bread in the oven at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or in the air fryer for 5-6 minutes to restore its crispiness and gooey center.

What To Serve With Blackstone Monkey Bread

Blackstone Monkey Bread is perfect on its own, but you can easily elevate the dish with a few tasty sides. Serve it alongside a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate for a cozy breakfast or brunch. For an extra indulgent treat, drizzle some cream cheese icing, maple syrup, or whipped cream on top. You can also pair it with fresh fruit like strawberries or berries to add a fresh contrast to the sweet, gooey bread!

Blackstone Monkey Bread Recipe Faqs

🍩 Can I use a different type of dough? Yes! While canned biscuit dough works best for this recipe, you can also use homemade biscuit dough or even cinnamon roll dough for a unique twist.

🌡️ What if I don’t have a Blackstone griddle? You can easily make monkey bread in the oven at 350°F for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

🍯 Can I add extra toppings? Absolutely! You can top the finished monkey bread with nuts like pecans or walnuts, drizzle extra maple syrup, or add caramel sauce for added sweetness.

🧑‍🍳 How do I know when the monkey bread is done? Check for a golden, crispy crust on the outside, and a soft, gooey interior. You can insert a toothpick to check if it comes out clean, indicating it’s cooked through.

🧴 Can I make this ahead of time? You can prepare the monkey bread a day in advance and refrigerate it. Just bake it fresh on the Blackstone or in the oven before serving.

🌿 Can I make a healthier version of this recipe? For a healthier take, try using whole wheat biscuits and reducing the amount of sugar. You can also swap butter for a lighter version like olive oil.
