Pro Tips For The Best Air Fryer Chicken Teriyaki Bowls

  • Marinate the chicken pieces: For the best flavor, marinate the chicken in the teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will help the chicken absorb the sauce’s flavors and become more tender.
  • Cook the chicken in batches: To ensure it cooks evenly, cook it in batches if needed. Overcrowding the air fryer basket can lead to uneven cooking and a soggy texture.
  • Add Vegetables: Add some vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, or Brussels Sprouts.
  • Sauce: You can also use store-bought teriyaki sauce for an easy recipe for meal prep.
  • Serve immediately: Serve the teriyaki chicken bowls immediately after cooking to enjoy the crispy texture of the chicken and vegetables. If you need to reheat them, do so in the air fryer to help them maintain their texture.
  • Soy Sauce: For a gluten-free recipe, use gluten-free or low-sodium soy sauce.

Serving Air Fryer Chicken Teriyaki Bowls

Here are some great side dishes to serve with an air fryer teriyaki bowl:

  • Air Fryer Edamame: Serve steamed or air-fried edamame as a protein-packed side dish. You can season them with salt and sesame oil for extra flavor.
  • Instant Pot Miso Soup: Miso soup is a classic Japanese soup made with miso paste, tofu, and seaweed. It’s a light and savory soup that pairs well with the teriyaki bowl.
  • Seaweed salad: Seaweed salad is a refreshing side dish that complements the flavors of the teriyaki bowl. It’s also loaded with nutrients.
  • Stir-fried vegetables: You can stir-fry some veggies, such as carrots, snow peas, and bell peppers, in a hot skillet with a bit of oil for a quick and healthy side dish.
  • Pickled vegetables: Serve some vegetables, such as cucumbers, carrots, or radishes, as a refreshing and tangy side dish. You can make them yourself or buy them pre-made from the store.
  • Rice: Seve over a bed of rice, such as cauliflower rice, basmati rice, brown rice, or white rice.

Choose any of these side dishes to serve with your air fryer teriyaki bowl, and you will have a delicious and satisfying meal.
