Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Honey Mustard Chicken Wings
- Chicken Wings
- Spicy Brown Mustard
- Honey
- Butter
- Lemon Juice
- Salt
- Black Pepper
How To Make Air Fryer Honey Mustard Chicken Wings
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix the mustard, honey, butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Then place the chicken wings into the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 380 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 12 minutes; after 12 minutes, use tongs to flip the chicken wings.
Then increase the temperature to 400 degrees F for another 5 minutes.
In a small saucepan, mix together the honey mustard sauce. Simmer for about 2 minutes.
When the wings are finished cooking, add the wings to the sauce to coat them. You can add them back to the air fryer for another 3 minutes, just long enough for the glaze to caramelize.
Pro Tips:
- If you want, you can baste the chicken wings and then place them back into the air fryer for extra flavor.
- Do not crowd the air fryer bakest; otherwise, they will not cook up correctly.
- Spray your basket if you find that food is sticking, or use a piece of parchment paper.
- This recipe will work the same in Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, and even Instant Pot Crisp Lid.
- You can substitute out the chicken wings for chicken breast if you want a healthier option.
Why is my air fryer smoking?
The air fryer only smokes, usually when the oil drips out of the basket onto the hot air fryer basket, which then causes it to smoke.
To prevent this, put a couple of tablespoons of water in the basket or a piece of bread. Both will catch the oil and prevent it from smoking.
