How to Make Air Fryer Cronuts Recipe

Step Two: While the cronuts are air frying, in a medium-size bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon. Brush on melted butter to the top, bottom, and side of the cronuts. While the cronut is still warm, place it into the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Be sure to coat thoroughly. Repeat until all eight cronuts have been covered in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Cronut Recipe Air Fryer Recipe Tips
- Use Fresh Refrigerated Biscuits: Opt for high-quality, fresh refrigerated biscuits for the best texture. They should be soft and flaky for that perfect cronut bite.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Make sure to place only a few cronuts at a time in the air fryer basket. Overcrowding can prevent them from cooking evenly and getting crispy.
- Coat Generously: Don’t be shy with the cinnamon-sugar mixture! The more you coat the cronuts, the more flavor and sweetness they’ll have.
- Air Fry in Batches: If you’re making a large batch, air fry the cronuts in batches to ensure they’re evenly cooked and crispy on all sides.
- Brush with Butter: Brushing the cronuts with melted butter before coating them in cinnamon-sugar ensures a crisp and golden finish.
- Experiment with Toppings: Try drizzling melted chocolate or a glaze on top for extra sweetness or a fun twist!
- Check for Crispness: Keep an eye on the cronuts while air frying. If they need extra time for crispness, add a few more minutes at a lower temperature.
Storing
- Storing: Store leftover air fryer cronuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days to maintain their freshness. For longer storage, keep them in the fridge to extend their shelf life for up to a week.
- Freezing: To freeze, place the cooled cronuts on a baking sheet in a single layer and freeze for 1-2 hours before transferring them to a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 months.
- Reheating: Reheat frozen cronuts in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes or until warm and crispy. For refrigerated cronuts, air fry at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore their freshness.
What To Serve With Air Fryer Cronuts
Air Fryer Cronuts are a sweet and indulgent treat on their own, but they pair wonderfully with a variety of accompaniments. Serve them with a side of fresh fruit like berries or sliced citrus for a refreshing contrast to the rich cinnamon-sugar coating. A dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce adds extra sweetness, while a cup of hot coffee or tea enhances the experience. For a more decadent option, serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a side of creamy yogurt for dipping!

These were delicious! But I think the 2 cups of sugar is way overestimated 😂 I had 1.5 cups of the cinnamon sugar mixture leftover. I could make ALOT more of these with that much sugar. But otherwise super easy, and very tasty. Also easy enough that my kiddos could make them on their own!

Debbie
These are good & easy to make & my family loved them! But the actual cronuts texture & taste is different because of the croissant dough. Was wondering if using puff or croissant pastry will work. I will try!
