  • Scrambled Eggs: Scrambled eggs add protein and flavor. Use egg whites if you prefer to skip the yolks.
  • Cooked Ground Sausage: I love using ground sausage for its savory flavor. It makes each slice more satisfying.
  • Cheddar Cheese: For me, cheddar cheese is a must! It melts over the toppings and brings everything together.

Step 4: Air fry (or bake)

Step 5: Serve

Remove the breakfast pizza crescent rolls from the air fryer, and slice into wedges. You can enjoy them on their own or serve alongside a big bowl of fresh fruit. They also pair perfectly with AIR FRYER SHREDDED HASHBROWNS or even AIR FRYER HASH BROWN PATTIES. Enjoy!

Breakfast Pizza Variations

This is a base recipe, so you can easily customize it with your favorite toppings. Here are some great ideas for creating a different breakfast pizza:

  • Crust: If you don’t have crescent dough, you can use pizza dough or even Pillsbury Pizza Crust.
  • Sausage: You don’t have to use sausage — try bacon or a combination of bacon and sausage instead.
  • Vegetables: This is a great opportunity to load up on vegetables. Add sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach, or anything else you like.
  • Cheese: Swap out the cheddar cheese for any variety you prefer.
  • Gluten Free:  Looking for an easy gluten free air fryer breakfast recipe? Just substitute the crust with a gluten free pizza crust!

How to Store Breakfast Pizza

Whether you have leftovers or want to prepare in advance, storing your crescent roll breakfast pizza is simple. Follow these tips to ensure it stays fresh for future meals.

Make ahead

  • I recommend making this on the same day that you plan to eat it, otherwise, the crust may get soggy.
  • To make it easier, you can cook the scrambled eggs and fry up the ground sausage in advance —this way, you will have half the work done.
  • Alternatively, you could prepare the pizza crust the night before along with the toppings (scrambled eggs and ground sausage), and then assemble everything in the air fryer.

Refrigerator

If you have any leftover breakfast pizza, place it in an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator.

Reheat

Place your leftovers in the air fryer basket and set the temperature to  300 degrees F for about 3-5 minutes. Remove them once they are hot.

For extra flavor, consider adding some fresh shredded cheese.

Freezer

If you want to make a batch ahead of time and freeze them, assemble the pizzas after air frying.

To freeze, place them on a baking sheet and pop the baking sheet into the freezer. Once the breakfast pizzas are frozen solid, transfer them to a freezer bag. They will last about 1–2 months in the freezer.

To air fry from frozen, place the frozen egg pizza in the air fryer basket, set the temperature to 350 degrees F, and air fry for 5–10 minutes, or until warmed through.

Breakfast Pizza with Crescent Rolls Pro Tips

  • Pre-bake the Crust: Pre-bake the crust in the air fryer before adding your toppings. Skipping this step could lead to burnt toppings or raw dough.
  •  Customize Your Toppings: Try different toppings! You can add your favorite vegetables, meats, or even spices.
  • Don’t Overload on Toppings: While it’s tempting to pile on all your favorites, too many can make the pizza soggy. Stick to a balanced amount for the best results.
  • Let it Rest Before Serving: Allow the pizza to rest for a few minutes after cooking. This will help the cheese set and make it easier to slice.
  • Try Different Cheeses: While cheddar is delicious, experimenting with other cheeses like mozzarella, gouda, or feta can add a unique flavor to your breakfast pizza.

Breakfast Pizza Crescent Rolls Recipe FAQs

Can you make breakfast pizza in the air fryer?

Yes! Breakfast pizza with crescent rolls is a delicious and easy way to start your day. And, thanks to the air fryer, it’s now easier than ever to make

What is the best crust to use for the air fryer?

I used crescent rolls that I had in my refrigerator. You can also try crescent roll sheets and trim any excess, or experiment with other options like Pillsbury Pizza Crust, pizza dough, biscuit dough, or puff pastry. Each of these will puff up nicely in the air fryer, just be sure to keep an eye on the cooking time as it may vary slightly.

Can I use bacon instead of sausage for breakfast pizza?

Yes, all you need to do is use cooked bacon or even bacon bits and scatter them on the pizza. I liked the ground sausage because it’s an easy copycat recipe for my famous AIR FRYER BREAKFAST CASSEROLE!

What type of cheese do you use for breakfast pizza?

I used cheddar cheese, but you really can use any cheese that would melt. Some of the popular choices would be Mozzarella, Colby Jack, Provolone, Asiago, Gouda, or Fontina.

How do I keep the crust from getting soggy?

Pre-baking the crust in the air fryer for a few minutes before adding toppings helps prevent it from getting soggy and ensures a fully cooked base.

Can you make the pizza ahead of time?

I recommend making this on the same day that you want to eat it, otherwise, the crust might get soggy. You can eliminate some work by cooking the scrambled eggs and frying up the ground sausage ahead of time.
