How To Make Air Fryer Blueberry Dutch Baby Pancakes

Step One: Use a blender or a magic bullet and blend the flour, egg, and milk until smooth.

Step Two: Then add your butter to the skillet.
Step Three: Place the skillet into the air fryer temperature to 400 degrees F (air fryer setting), just long enough for the butter to melt.

Step Four: Then pour your batter into the greased skillet.
Step Five: Set back into the air fryer at 350 degrees F (air fryer setting) fand set cook time for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add your blueberries and air fry for another 3-4 minutes. You want the berries to burst open.

Air Fryer Blueberry Dutch Baby Pancakes Recipe Tips
- Use Fresh or Frozen Blueberries: Fresh blueberries give the best flavor, but frozen work too—just don’t thaw completely to avoid turning the batter blue.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Ensures even cooking and a nicely puffed Dutch baby.
- Grease the Skillet Well: Butter or non-stick spray prevents sticking and helps create golden edges.
- Don’t Overmix the Batter: Blend until just smooth; overmixing can make the pancake dense.
- Watch Cooking Time: Air fryer models vary—start checking a minute or two early to avoid overcooking.
Storing Instructions
- Room Temperature: Best enjoyed fresh. If needed, store loosely covered for up to 1 day.
- Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave.
- Freezer: Not recommended, as texture may change and become less fluffy after thawing.

Air Fryer Blueberry Dutch Baby Pancakes Recipe Faqs
Can I use frozen blueberries? Yes! Use frozen blueberries straight from the freezer. Don’t thaw completely to prevent the batter from turning blue.
Can I use other fruits instead of blueberries? Absolutely! Raspberries, chopped strawberries, or blackberries all work well. Just adjust cooking time slightly if needed.
Do I have to use a skillet? A small oven-safe or air fryer-safe skillet works best to get the puffed edges. Silicone or metal pans designed for air fryers can also be used.
How do I know when it’s done? The Dutch baby is ready when it’s puffed, golden, and set in the center. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
Can I make this ahead of time? It’s best served fresh. If needed, store in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave.
Can I make this gluten-free or dairy-free? Yes! Substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend and use plant-based milk and butter alternatives for a dairy-free version.
Can I double the recipe? Yes, but cook in batches or use a larger air fryer skillet. Overcrowding may prevent the Dutch baby from puffing properly.

Laurie, I have made this many times. Though this morning I didn’t have blueberries in the house. Soooooo I grabbed some dates and chopped them up and added chopped walnuts to the batter. LOL this morning was the premiere of Date Nut dutch baby. BTW it was delicious!
