Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Sandwich is amazing! Now that summer is here, my kids are all about BBQ, and this chicken sandwich will not disappoint.
You all know that the air fryer produces a juicy, tender chicken breast and uses hardly any oil. So, I thought, why not try a great BBQ chicken sandwich for lunch?
Tender, juicy and delicious was the result. Served up with a Brioche bun and some air-fried bacon, this is a fantastic lunch that only takes minutes to prepare.

How to Air Fry Juicy Chicken Breasts
The key to making a really juicy chicken breast in the air fryer starts with the seasoning.
I recommend that you season your chicken breast with salt and pepper. Then add some other spices that you like. I typically add garlic powder, onion powder, and maybe some rub for even more seasoning.
Then you want to really a juicy chicken breast, you need to cook it until it’s perfectly cooked. I always use a meat thermometer, ensuring that the chicken is cooked, not undercooked and non-overdone, for the perfect chicken breast.
The internal temperature of a chicken breast is 165 degrees F, and you take the temperature in the thickest part of the chicken breast.

How To Make Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Sandwich
Start by brushing your chicken breast with olive oil, adding some salt and black pepper to your chicken.
Set the chicken into the air fryer basket for 12-15 minutes at 390 degrees F, air fryer setting. Or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
When the chicken is halfway done cooking, brush some BBQ sauce on the chicken, and then add more BBQ sauce on top, right after adding your bun.
Add your toppings, and add some more BBQ sauce if desired.
Other Chicken Cuts You Can Use?
You can make this same recipe with boneless, skinless chicken thighs, although the cooking time might increase somewhat.
Remember to check the temperature of the chicken before removing it from the air fryer, and it should be 165 degrees F.
Store and Freeze Leftover BBQ Chicken
Place leftover BBQ chicken into an airtight container, and then place it into the refrigerator, which will last for 2 to 3 days.
To freeze, place into an airtight container and place into the freezer, where BBQ chicken will last for about 1 to 2 months.
