Ingredients 

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
  • 1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce, or more for extra flavor
  • 2 Hamburger Buns , lightly toasted
  • 2 slices Cheddar Cheese, optional
  • 2 leaves Lettuce ,
  • 2 slices Tomato Slices
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise,
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt , To taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper, To taste

Instructions

  • Season boneless chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and a light coat of your favorite barbecue sauce. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes for extra flavor.
  • Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 3-5 minutes.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the chicken and lightly toast the hamburger buns in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 1-2 minutes.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, the grilled chicken, and cheddar cheese. Drizzle with additional barbecue sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
  • Serve immediately while warm for a fresh, restaurant-style sandwich.
