Pro Tips For The Best Air Fryer Apple Pie French Toast

  • You can find the canned apple pie filling in the baking aisle! This is optional but, heating the apple pie filling really takes it to the next level. You can do this on the stovetop or in the microwave.
  • I used the prepackaged cinnamon sugar. You can find it in the spice aisle. You can also make your own with equal parts ground cinnamon & granulated sugar.
  • I used thick sliced sandwich bread. You could also use Texas toast, French bread, challah, or brioche.
  • Want to go all out? You can even top this with powdered sugar and white chocolate chips!
  • French toast is best enjoyed right away!

Using Homemade Apple Filling

Although today, I used a canned pie filling, you can easily make this same recipe with homemade apple pie filling.

You can use any apples that you can for the filing. Although I prefer a baking apple, which tends to hold its shape better, some of my favorites are Red Delicious, Gala, and Granny Smith apples.

How To Store Air Fryer Apple Pie French Toast

If you have any leftovers, let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container. Place the container into the refrigerator, where it will last for 2 to 3 days.

You can reheat them in the air fryer at 350 degrees F, air fryer setting, heat until warmed through, and then top with the apple pie topping.

Variations:

While today, I used regular sandwich bread, you can really use any bread that you want. I have made this using Gluten-Free bread, but there are many options available.

I love using thicker bread, and you can also use Texas Toast, Ciabbata, and other Artisan Bread.
