What Are Zucchini Chips?
If you have never made zucchini chips or even regular chips before. Let me tell you that this is so easy. I started making zucchini chips because my kids loved the Veggie Chips that we purchased at Costco. Soon, I learned how easy they would be to make in the Air Fryer! Crispy and absolutely delicious!
Zucchini chips are a crispy and healthy alternative to regular potato chips. They’re made by slicing zucchinis thinly, seasoning them with salt and pepper, and baking in the air fryer until they’re crisp. Making these is an easy project for kids because it only requires a few ingredients: zucchini, oil (optional), and salt or other seasonings like paprika or garlic powder.
Each recipe has its own flavor-infusing tips you can use to customize your own zucchini chip experience. For instance, if you want yogurt-based dip for your slices of vegetable goodness then try adding some honey and lemon juice into the mix! You could also add cumin seeds to give your chips
Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Crispy Parmesan Zucchini Chips
- Zucchini
- Eggs
- Parmesan Cheese
- Almond Flour
- Cooking Spray
How To Make Air Fryer Crispy Parmesan Zucchini Chips
Start by making very thin slices of the zucchinis. You can use a Mandoline if necessary. In a small bowl whisk the eggs with a fork. In another bowl add the almond flour, the grated parmesan, mix.
Dip the zucchini into the egg wash, letting the excess off drip off.
Coat the Zucchini Chips into the almond and cheese.
Spray the basket with cooking spray, then place the chips in the basket of the air fryer without stacking them if possible. Cook at 400 ˚F, air fryer setting, for 8 to 10 minutes turning them halfway.
Repeat for the rest of the chips until they are all cooked through.
Pro Tips:
- Try to slice the zucchini into the same sizes, so that they all cook up at the same time. This is one of the best reasons to purchase a Mandoline.
- Spray your basket with cooking spray, so that the zucchini does not stick.
- Do not crowd your basket, otherwise the air fryer does not crisp up the zucchini, the air fryer needs the heat to flow freely around the air fryer, so they perfectly crisp up.
- Dry your zucchini. For really crispy zucchini, pat the zucchini dry with paper towels, which will help for the coating to adhere to the zucchini.
How To Store Zucchini Chips
There is nothing better than a batch of homemade Zucchini Chips; however, they do not stay crispy.
The best way to store Air Fryer Zucchini Chips would be to let them cool to room temperature and then place them into a resealable bag or an airtight container. They will last in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days.
Reheating:
The best way to reheat zucchini chips would be in the Air Fryer.
My advice would be to spray your zucchini chips with cooking spray and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes at 350 degrees F, air fryer setting.
To Serve:
While this side dish or appetizer is perfect alone, there is nothing better than to serve chips along with a dip.
Some of my favorites are:
- Yum Yum Sauce
- Ranch Dressing
- Marinara Sauce
- Blue Cheese Dressing
