They’re made by slicing zucchini thinly, seasoning them with salt and pepper, and baking them in the air fryer until they’re crisp. Making these is an easy project for kids because it only requires a few ingredients: zucchini, oil (optional), and salt or other seasonings like paprika or garlic powder.
You can add all sorts of spices and seasonings to make this the perfect zucchini chips air fryer recipe ever!
Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Zucchini Chips
- Zucchini
- Eggs
- Parmesan Cheese
- Almond Flour
- Cooking Spray
How To Make Air Fryer Zucchini Chips
Step 1: Slice zucchini
Start by making very thin slices of the zucchini. You can use a Mandoline if necessary.
Step 2: Coat zucchini chips
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with a fork. In another bowl, add the almond flour and the grated parmesan, and mix.
Dip the zucchini into the egg wash, letting the excess drip off.
Coat the Zucchini Chips into the almond and cheese.
Step 3: Air Fry Zucchini Chips
Spray the basket with cooking spray, then place the chips in the basket of the air fryer without stacking them if possible. Cook at 400 ˚F, air fryer setting, for 8 to 10 minutes, turning them halfway.
Step 4: Repeat Process
Repeat for the rest of the air fried zucchini chips until they are all cooked through.
Pro Tips:
- Try to slice the zucchini into the same sizes so that they all cook up at the same time. This is one of the best reasons to purchase a Mandoline.
- Spray your basket with cooking spray so that the zucchini does not stick.
- Do not crowd your basket; otherwise, the air fryer does not crisp up the zucchini. The air fryer needs the heat to flow freely around the zucchini chips so they perfectly crisp up.
- Dry your zucchini. For really crispy zucchini, pat the zucchini dry with paper towels, which will help the coating to adhere to the zucchini.
Storing Parmesan Zucchini Chips
There is nothing better than a batch of air fryer zucchini chips; however, they do not stay crispy.
The best way to store air fried zucchini chips would be to let them cool to room temperature and then place them into a resealable bag or an airtight container. They will last in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days.
Reheating:
The best way to reheat zucchini chips would be in the Air Fryer.
My advice would be to spray your zucchini chips with cooking spray and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes at 350 degrees F.
