Instant Pot Southern Deviled Eggs Recipe Pro Tips

  • Perfectly Cooked Eggs: Use the Instant Pot’s “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” setting for 5 minutes on high pressure, followed by a quick release and immediate transfer to an ice bath to ensure easy peeling.
  • Creamy Yolk Texture: To achieve a smooth and creamy yolk filling, thoroughly mash the yolks with a fork before incorporating other ingredients. Adding a bit of mayonnaise and mustard not only enhances flavor but also helps achieve a silky consistency.
  • Flavor Enhancements: For that classic Southern twist, consider adding a touch of sweet pickle relish or a dash of vinegar for tanginess. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
  • Piping Technique: To achieve a professional look, use a piping bag fitted with a star tip or simply fill a plastic bag with the yolk mixture, then cut off the corner for easy piping into the egg whites.
  • Chilling for Best Results: Allow the deviled eggs to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps the flavors meld together and makes them easier to handle and transport.
