Instant Pot Egg Bites — If you’re like me, you’re always on the lookout for new breakfast ideas. These Instant Pot egg bites are a great way to change up your morning routine! They’re healthy, easy to make, and delicious. Plus, they’re perfect for busy mornings when you need something quick and convenient. I highly recommend giving them a try!

My kids love a run to Starbucks, as do I. So, when the new silicone molds came out, I thought about different Instant Pot recipes, you could make with them. And since, my kids are always eating the Copycat Starbucks Egg Bites version of these. I thought, about doing them.

They are currently all of the rages. My kids really like ham ones, and since I had leftover ham, I switched out the classic bacon, for the ham. They worked out wonderfully. They had great light and favorable taste. You can either freeze these for later, or make a whole batch, and then eat them during the week. They also make great snacks. And, if you learn to make a Starbucks coffee as good as they can, you can really have a Starbucks experience at home. That would save you a ton of money!

Welcome to my world of egg bites! If you've never had them before, they are basically like little egg muffins that are perfect for the on-the-go. Not only are they super tasty, but they're also really healthy too! You can customize them however you want, so I like to switch up the flavors depending on what I'm in the mood for. Today, I'm going to show you how to make some bacon and cheese egg bites! Let's get started!

Eggs: Use large room-temperature whole eggs, (or large eggs) or you can use only egg whites

Cheese: Use freshly shredded chees, either cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, or cream cheese. 

Meat: Use bacon, breakfast sausage, bacon bits, turkey bacon, or ham, both need to be fully cooked!

Vegetables: (Optional): Bell Pepper, Red Pepper, Green Onion, or sun-dried tomatoes.

How To Make Egg Bites In Instant Pot

Step One: Prepare The Egg Mixture

Break the eggs into a mixing bowl, beat them, stir in the ham and cheese and mix well, add in your fillings, and cheese. 

Step Two: Fill  Your Egg Bite Mold Pan

Start by adding 2 cups of water to the Instant Pot Bowl Then set the trivet inside of the Instant Pot Bowl. Pour the mixture into the silicone egg molds. Place the silicone mold tray directly onto the top of the trivet. Add the lid, per the instructions. And make sure the vent is in the “sealing” position. Set the cooking time for 8 minutes, at high pressure. Do a natural release for 2 minutes, then do a quick release. When the remaining pressure has been completely released, and the pin has dropped. Remove the lid.

First, make sure the egg bites are completely cooled before putting them in storage. Once they’re cool, you can put them in an airtight container or freezer bag. You can also freeze them if you plan to eat them later. Just make sure to thaw them overnight in the refrigerator.

How Do You Reheat Egg Bites?

Reheating your egg bites is simple and easy – all you need to do is microwave them. Start by putting the egg bites on a plate or in a bowl. Then place the plate into the microwave and cook for approximately 45 seconds, depending on how much food you’re reheating at one time. If they’re not hot enough after 45 seconds, give them an additional 15 seconds in the microwave. Add more time in small increments if necessary to ensure the egg bites are hot throughout the entire dish.

Can You Make A Double Batch?

Yes, I often make a double batch since they are great for meal prep, and a great make ahead breakfast. You can simply stack the egg bites molds on top of the mold. I often use aluminum foil and wrap them up, so they don’t leak on each other.

Can you Make These With All Egg Whites?

Yes, you would need to increase the egg whites to 8 whole egg whites.

Is The Cottage Cheese Necessary?

No, you do not need to use cottage cheese. In fact, many people love the fact that this recipe is an Instant Pot Bites Without Cottage Cheese! It’s easy and low carb!

Can I Add More Fillings?

Yes, there are so many more fillings that you can add, some of my favorite flavor combinations are green onions, bell peppers, goat cheese, and feta cheese! Experiment with these recipes for a healthy breakfast!

What To Serve With Egg Bites

Egg bites are a delicious and convenient snack. They can be enjoyed as they are, or they can be paired with any number of other foods. Some dishes that work well as a side dish for egg bites include:

Ingredients
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup ham diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
  1. Start by adding 2 cups of water to the Instant Pot Bowl Then set the trivet inside of the Instant Pot Bowl.

  2. In a small mixing bowl, mix together the eggs, cheddar cheese, ham, salt, and pepper, mix well.

  6. Set the manual high pressure for 8 minutes. Do a natural release for 2 minutes, then do a quick release.

  7. When the pressure has been completely released, and the pin has dropped. Remove the lid.

  8. With your pot holders, remove the silicone tray. Let sit for a few minutes, before serving.

  9. Plate, serve and enjoy! Note: This freezes well, you can store them in the refrigerator for a quick breakfast. Just heat up in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Enjoy!

    These are super easy and very yummy. I probably added more ham & cheese than was called for, but who measures? I used a pretty salty Black Forrest Ham so probably didn’t add in a whole teaspoon of salt. Next time I might throw in some green onion if I have some around. But otherwise this is a keeper.
