How To Make Air Fryer Jalapeno Cheddar Quick Bread
To make Air Fryer Jalapeno Cheddar Quick Bread, follow these simple steps:
Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and minced jalapeno, and reserve the sliced jalapenos. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and butter until well combined. Pour the butter mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just mixed through.
Divide the batter evenly between your loaf pans. Dot the tops of the loaves with jalapeno slices.
Using the air fryer setting, cook at 320 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or until the bread is cooked. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
Pro Tips
- Adjust Spice Level: The bread’s spiciness depends on the jalapeno peppers. You can control the heat by using more or fewer peppers and adjusting the amount of seeds and membranes you include. Remove the seeds and white membranes for milder bread, or leave them in for a spicier kick.
- Use Fresh Jalapenos: Fresh jalapenos will provide the best flavor and texture. Look for firm, vibrant green peppers without any wrinkles or soft spots.
- Don’t Overmix: When combining the wet and dry ingredients, be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can produce a tougher texture, so stir until combined. It’s okay if there are a few lumps.
- Grease the Pan: Ensure the air fryer-safe baking pan or dish is thoroughly greased to prevent sticking. You can use cooking spray or a small amount of oil.
- Adjust Cooking Time: Cooking times may vary depending on the size and model of your air fryer. Watch the bread during the last few minutes of cooking to ensure it doesn’t overcook or brown too quickly.
- Cool Before Slicing: Allow the Jalapeno Cheddar Quick Bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. This helps prevent it from falling apart when you slice it.
- Serve with Condiments: This bread is delicious, but you can enhance the flavors by serving it with butter, cream cheese, or a dipping sauce like ranch dressing.
- Customize with Herbs: Feel free to add herbs like fresh cilantro or parsley for added flavor and freshness. Chopped herbs can be mixed into the batter before baking.
Enjoy your homemade air fryer bread with the perfect balance of cheesy goodness and a hint of jalapeno heat!
Storing
This is a great bread that you can store for a couple of days. However, it must be refrigerated since it contains both milk and cheese. Let the bread cool to room temperature, and then place the bread into an airtight container. Place the container into the refrigerator.
How To Freeze
Let the bread cool to room temperature. Wrap it in saran wrap a few times, then aluminum foil a couple of times. Then place it in a freezer bag. The wrapped bread will last for about 2 to 3 months in the freezer.
To use from frozen, place the frozen bread into the refrigerator, where it will thaw overnight. Then you can eat it cold or heat it in the air fryer or microwave.
