What is A Caesar Salad?

There is nothing better than a fresh Caesar Salad traditionally made with leafy green romaine lettuce, with croutons, and served with Caesar Dressing.

It is a very simple salad, with lots of flavors. There are two spellings for the same salad, Cesar and Caesar. The spelling differs, depending on what you are looking at.

Caesar dressing can either be bought or homemade. Still, they both include the following ingredients, minced garlic, anchovy paste, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, Mayonnaise, grated Pareamn-Reggiano, salt, and black pepper.

Who Invented Cesar (Caesar) Salad?

There is generally one story about who invented the now famous salad, back in the 1920’s.

The story was that an Italian immigrant, Caesar Cardini, invented it. Legend has it that he was a chef and a hotel owner, and during a long weekend, they ran out of food, and Caesar Cardini made the Caesar Salad out of what was left in the kitchen.

Whoever made it or invented it, the salad has remained the same since the invention, and it’s one of the most common salads at most restaurants.
