How to Make BBQ Chicken Thighs in Air Fryer
Step 1: Make the seasoning
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F, air fryer setting, and spray the basket with cooking spray.
In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to make the dry rub for the BBQ chicken thighs. Reserve 1 tbsp of the dry rub for use later.
Step 2: Season the chicken
Add the rest of the dry rub to the chicken thighs in a large bowl, using your hands to rub the seasoning well into the chicken.
Step 3: Air fry the chicken
Cook the BBQ chicken thighs in air fryer for 18-20 mins, turning halfway through the cooking time. Cook until chicken is golden brown and a food thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken reads 165°F.
Step 4: Make the easy homemade BBQ sauce
While the chicken is cooking, combine the ketchup, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, olive oil, and reserved 1 tbsp of dry rub to make the barbecue sauce.
Step 5: Sauce the chicken and air fry again
