How To Make Easy Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs

Step One: Roll out the pie crust gently with a rolling pin, keeping it thick enough to hold the filling without tearing.

Step Two: Use a 4-inch biscuit cutter to cut circles from the pie crust, making as many as possible.

Step Three: Spoon about ½ tablespoon of filling into the center of each dough circle, keeping it away from the edges to prevent overflow.

Step Four: Place a second dough circle over each filled dough circle. Crimp the edges with your fingers or a fork to seal completely.
Step Five: Carefully cut small slits in the top of each pie to allow steam to escape during cooking.
Step Six: In a small bowl, beat 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the egg wash over the tops of each pie for a golden finish. Place the pies in the air fryer basket in small batches. Cook at 350°F for 8–10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. A little filling may ooze, but a properly sealed crust prevents major spills.
Step Seven: While the pies cool, mix powdered sugar and water in a small bowl until smooth. Once the pies are completely cooled, drizzle or dip them into the glaze for a sweet finishing touch.

Easy Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs Recipe Tips
- Don’t Overfill: Keep the filling in the center to prevent spilling during air frying.
- Seal Crust Well: Crimp edges tightly with fingers or a fork to avoid leaks.
- Air Fry in Batches: Cook a few pies at a time for even crisping.
- Cool Before Glazing: Let pies cool completely before adding glaze to prevent melting.
- Use Fresh or Well-Drained Cherries: Prevents excess liquid that can make the crust soggy.
- Optional Toppings: Add powdered sugar, extra glaze, or sliced cherries for presentation.
- Storage Tip: Keep pies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days.
Storing, Freezing and Make Ahead Instructions
- Storing: Store cooled cherry pie bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Keep the glaze separate and add it just before serving to maintain freshness.
- Freezing: These pies are best enjoyed fresh, as freezing may make the filling watery. You can freeze unfilled graham cracker crusts for up to 1 month if needed.
- Make-Ahead: Prepare the cherry filling and dice the cherries a day in advance to save time. Assemble and chill the pies for at least 1 hour before serving, adding glaze right before serving.

Easy Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs
Description
Ingredients
Cherry Pie Bomb Ingredients
- 9 inch pie crust
- 15 ounces cherry pie filling
Egg Wash:
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Begin by rolling out your 9 inch pie crust with a rolling pin. Be careful to not roll it out too thin
- Using a 4” biscuit cutter, begin cutting out as many circles as you can from your pie crust. .
- Place a ½ tbsp of 15 ounces cherry pie filling in the center of the circle of dough. The filling should not reach the edges but stay in the center without too much piling up.
- Place another circle of dough over the circle of dough with the filling. Crimp the edges down to seal them. You can use your fingers or a fork. Carefully cut slits in the top of each pie.
- Continue this process until you have all your little pies made.
- In a small bowl, prepare your egg wash by cracking your 1 large egg and beating it well. Then, add 1 tablespoon water and stir.
- Brush the egg wash over each pie.
- Place the pies a few at a time in the air fryer basket. As these cook, they may ‘ooze’ out a little of their filling, but if you seal the crust well and don't overfill then it won't be a big issue.
- Set cook time for 8-0 minutes at air fryer temperature of 350 degrees F. Pies will be golden brown and crispy looking.
- While the pies are cooling off, add the 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon water to a bowl. Stir well. Pour or dip pies into the glaze once they are completely cooled off.
