Air Fryer Breakfast Stuffed Peppers Recipe Tips
- The hardest part of this recipe is cutting the peppers, so they stay flat in the air fryer. I ended up using a pan since they kept on falling over.
- You really can use anything for a filling. I made these eggs two ways; the first was more of a scrambled, the second time, I cracked the eggs into the middle of the cup. Both ways work perfectly.
- They will keep for a few days in the refrigerator but do not freeze them; they will turn mushy and inedible.
Recipe Variations
- Cheese: Shredded Cheddar, Feta, Gouda, Shredded Mozzarella, Etc.
- Meat: Cooked Ground Sausage, Chorizo, or diced ham.
- Vegetables: Diced scallions, chives, tomatoes, etc.
- Seasonings: Salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, etc.
Egg in bell pepper air fryer recipe faqs
Can I cook the eggs directly in the bell peppers without pre-cooking them?
Yes! Simply crack the eggs into the hollowed-out bell peppers and air fry. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time to ensure the eggs are fully set.
Do I need to pre-cook the bell peppers before adding the eggs? No, the peppers will soften as they cook in the air fryer along with the eggs. However, if you prefer softer peppers, you can air fry them for 3-5 minutes before adding the eggs.
Can I add other ingredients to the egg filling? Absolutely! You can mix in cheese, diced veggies, cooked bacon, or sausage to the eggs before pouring them into the bell peppers for added flavor and texture.
How can I prevent the eggs from spilling out of the peppers in the air fryer? Make sure the bell peppers are sitting upright in the air fryer basket. You can trim the bottoms slightly to help them stay balanced.
Can I make these ahead of time? Yes! You can prepare the stuffed peppers ahead of time and store them in the fridge. Just reheat them in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes before serving.
