Step One: Make The Graham Cracker Crust

Step Two: Prepare The Filling

In a saucepan or pot, mix the heavy cream, milk, vanilla, and sugar. Heat to medium and boil, stirring every few minutes. While the milk mixture is boiling, whisk it in a separate bowl with the eggs. Temper about ¼ cup of the heated milk mixture into the eggs by slowly pouring it into them while stirring constantly until thoroughly combined and the egg mixture is warm throughout. Bring the milk mixture back to a simmer on the stove.

Add the tempered egg mixture to the saucepan or pot and stir constantly. Continuously stir until the cream mixture thickens slightly, and then remove from the heat. Take a large bowl with the peanut butter cups and pour the thickened mixture on top of the chocolates. Let it sit for one minute to allow the chocolates to start melting.
Whisk together to melt the peanut butter chocolate cups entirely and create a slightly thick and emulsified peanut butter filling. Fill the mason jars ¾ way full with the peanut butter filling by spooning it into each jar or using a piping bag with the tip snipped.

Let sit in the refrigerator for 1.5 to 2 hours or overnight.

Pro Tips

  • Topping: Be patient with the peanut butter filling to melt the chocolate and peanut butter. The peanut butter will take slightly longer to soften and blend than the rest of the chocolate around the peanut butter.
  • Timing: Be careful to watch your marshmallows as they cook. They will go from raw to burn in seconds. For best results, check frequently as your Peanut Butter S’ mores cook.

Topping Suggestions

Add some graham cracker crumbs, additional marshmallows, and diced or shaved chocolate on top.
