How To Make Quick & Easy Air Fryer Bacon Roses

Step One: Place the bacon flat on a cutting board, then roll it up, ensuring the top is slightly puffed out more than the other side. Secure the rolls by inserting toothpicks in an X shape, placing one toothpick on each side of the roll.

Step Two: As you shape the bacon into roses, place them in the air fryer basket or tray. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and maple syrup, then use a pastry brush to coat the bacon roses with the glaze. Set the air fryer temperature to 400 degrees F (air fryer setting) and set cook time for 5-7 minutes. After 5 minutes, brush more glaze over the bacon roses and air fry for an additional 5 minutes.

Step Three: Assembling the bacon roses is half the fun! Everyone loves crispy air fryer bacon, and now you can turn it into a bouquet of flowers! Once the bacon has cooled to room temperature, add your “stems.” You can use a fake flower bouquet (just remove the flowers) or a bunch of fresh herbs as the perfect base for your bacon roses.

Air Fryer Bacon Roses Recipe Tips
- Use thin or regular-cut bacon: It bends easily, making it simple to roll into rose shapes.
- Secure with toothpicks: Hold the bacon in place while air frying so it doesn’t unravel.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Give each rose space to cook evenly and get crispy edges.
- Check halfway through cooking: Air fryer temps vary—rotate or adjust timing to avoid burning.
- Drain on paper towels: This keeps your bacon roses crisp and removes excess grease.
Storing & Make Ahead Instructions
- Storing: Let the bacon roses cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 320°F for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
- Make Ahead: Assemble the bacon roses ahead of time and keep them covered in the fridge for a few hours before cooking. You can also partially cook the bacon first, then roll into roses and finish air frying just before serving for fresher, crisper results.

Bacon Roses Air Fryer Recipe Faqs
What type of bacon works best for bacon roses? Thin or regular-cut bacon is easiest to roll and cooks evenly in the air fryer.
Do I need toothpicks to make them? Yes, toothpicks help hold the bacon in place while it cooks and prevents it from unraveling.
Can I make bacon roses ahead of time? Absolutely. You can assemble them in advance and store in the fridge for a few hours before air frying.
How do I keep them crispy after cooking? Drain on paper towels immediately after air frying and avoid stacking. Reheat in the air fryer if needed to refresh the crispiness.
Can I add flavorings to the bacon? Definitely! Try maple syrup, brown sugar, smoked paprika, or fresh herbs for sweet, smoky, or aromatic variations.
Can I freeze bacon roses? Yes, you can freeze uncooked, assembled bacon roses. Thaw in the fridge and air fry as usual, though fresh bacon will always be crispier.
What air fryer temperature and time works best? Cook at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, checking halfway, until crispy and golden brown.

Not all bacon comes from the belly, what Americans call Canadian is actually not called that in Canada. It’s called Back Bacon and in some areas called Pea-meal Bacon. It is cut from Pork Loin by the back. I’m Canadian and the first time I heard it called Canadian Bacon my boyfriend and broke out laughing and asked what the heck is that. We were in a Canadian border store and the clerk said, Oh I thought you were Americans, I’ll show you where the Back Bacon is! Twenty years ago and I still smile. I’m looking forward to making theses yummy roses!
