This is the grown-up version of candied bacon, made with bourbon but any alcohol can be made as candied bacon. Since this recipe calls for alcohol, remember to watch your air fryer during the cooking process, as some alcohols may cause flames.
- 1 pound thick cut bacon
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2/3 cup maple syrup
- In a large and wide bowl, mix together the brown sugar, maple syrup, and bourbon. Mix well.
- Place the bacon into the dish and press the syrup on the bacon, both sides.
- As you coat them, place them in your air fryer basket or tray.
- Set the tray or basket into your air fryer, set the temperature to 400 degrees F for 7 minutes. Let them cool, as they cool the sugars will harden.
- Plate, serve and enjoy!
