We recently returned from a great trip to California, where we had a great time eating at Hamburger Hamlet. My kids fell in love with these Zucchini Zircles. They loved them, and what happens when a mom finds out that their kids love fried zucchini? The determined mom comes home and tries to replicate the dish in the air fryer. Today, I take my take on Air Fryer Copycat Hamburger Hamlet’s Zucchini Zircles.

It is officially zucchini season, and I love zucchini. Zucchini is a great versatile vegetable that you can do almost anything to, and it usually tastes fantastic. You are missing out if you haven’t tried air-fried or grilled zucchini.

Technically, zucchini is a squash. It has origins all over the world. Likewise, zucchini is cooked differently in all parts of the world, from Italians serving deep-fried, deep-flower fritters to Turkey making zucchini pancakes. You can add it to any recipe for a healthier spin on it.

What is Hamburger Hamlet?

As a cook, you might be familiar with Hamburger Hamlet. But what is it? It’s a chain of restaurants that started in Los Angeles in the 1950s, and today there are locations worldwide.

The menu is based on American classics like burgers and fries and Southern comfort food like fried chicken, macaroni, and cheese. Prices are generally affordable, making it a popular choice for casual dining. Hamburger Hamlet is worth checking out if you’re in the mood for some classic diner fare.

Should you salt zucchini before frying it?

Cooks have debated whether to salt zucchini before frying it for years. Some say that salting the zucchini draws out moisture and makes it crispier when fried or air-fried.

Others maintain that salting the zucchini makes it soggy and ruins the texture. So, what’s the correct answer? Well, the truth is, there is no one right answer. Every cook has their preference, and you may have to experiment a little to figure out what works best for you. But in general, salting zucchini is usually a good idea if you’re going to air fry it. Just dry it off thoroughly after salting it to avoid becoming greasy when you fry it.

How To Store:

If you’ve ever had fried zucchini, you know it’s a delicious dish. But what do you do with the leftovers? How do you store them so they stay crispy? Let the fried zucchini cool to room temperature, and then place it into an airtight container. They will last in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days.

Place into the air fryer, spray with cooking spray, and reheat until warmed through.

What To Serve With:

If you head to a Hamburger Hamlet, they are served with Apricot sauce, but you can serve this with any great sauce. Some of my favorites are:
