How To Make Air Fryer French Toast Breakfast Tacos
Start mixing your milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar. Dip your tortilla shells into the mixture. Coat them well.
Place your coated tortillas into the air fryer, and set the temperature to 400 degrees F. Air fryer setting, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, flipping halfway during the cooking process.
Layout your tortillas and top with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and syrup.
Ingredient Notes:
- Tortillas: Use flour tortillas for the best results here. You can choose between whole-wheat, white, or low-carb options; this is also a great recipe that can easily be adapted for an air fryer gluten-free breakfast option!
- French Toast Batter: I used a simple french toast batter with milk, egg, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar. If you want to use a sugar replacement or low-carb sugar replacement, that is fine.
- Eggs: I made scrambled eggs for this recipe. You can also make scrambled eggs in the air fryer.
- Sausage: While today I used cooked crumbled sausage, you could also use sausage links. My kids love the maple sausage links in this recipe, but you can also use cooked chorizo or spicy Italian sausage.
- Bacon: I also made a batch of Air Fryer Bacon, which is fantastic, but for even more flavor, you can make Air Fryer Millionaire’s Bacon, for a great twist!
Pro Tips:
Soaking: To get a better texture, make sure you soak your tortillas for enough time in the French Toast Batter. A solid 1-2 minutes is preferred!
Parchment Paper: For best results, use a piece of parchment paper in your air fryer so that the tortillas do not stick to the air fryer basket.
Cheese: If you want to add some cheese, you can use any of your favorites, cheddar cheese, pepper jack, or even Colby. You can assemble your breakfast tacos and then place them back into the air fryer, for the cheese to melt.
How To Store:
Do you love breakfast tacos, but don’t have the time to make them in the morning? Well, I’ve got a solution for you – air fryer breakfast tacos! They’re quick and easy to make, and they taste delicious. Plus, you can store them in the fridge so that you have a ready-made breakfast option for busy mornings.
Store: For best results make your breakfast taco ingredients and then store the ingredients separately.
Then when you are ready to serve these, reheat the eggs, sausage, and bacon. Reheat any leftover tortillas, and then assemble them.
