This is one of my family’s favorite recipes. It goes back generations in my family, it is typically served at our family’s Thanksgiving meal. This year, I made it this Easter as a side dish since my son Jason absolutely loves it, he loves popping them into his mouth if you can have the kids dip them in honey, that is almost the perfect bite. It’s nice yummy and full of flavor.
This is a very easy recipe to make, it takes hardly any time. I usually make the hush puppies the night before, then just bring them out for the big meal. If you want, you can make the batter the night before, and then just pop it into the air fryer, the morning of your holiday/get together. This way it will free you up for socializing with your loved ones, plus it will give you (the host) more time with celebrating, rather than being in the kitchen the entire time.
Here is another recipe, you might love if you love cornbread recipes,
I hope you and your family enjoy it, as much as mine does.
Wait until they cool, and pop them out.

This is the pan, I have been using:
Don’t Forget to Pin:
- 1 package Jiffy corn muffin mix
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 egg
Start by adding all of the ingredients to a small mixing bowl. Mix well.
Then spray the container that is shown above with non-stick cooking spray. Fill the slots with batter.
Set the time for 8 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Mine were done after 8 minutes, due to the difference in cooking times for air fryers, check and see if yours is done.
To do so place a toothpick through the middle of the hush puppy, if it comes out clean it's done, if not return and set another 2 minutes. Check again, repeat, until they are fully cooked.
