Waffle bowls are a hot trend right now, and they’re perfect for the summer. Made with waffles instead of bread, these sweet treats have gained popularity since they were introduced at the New York State Fair earlier this year.
The waffle bowl has a crispy outside layer that’s filled with all sorts of delicious toppings like ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, fruit flavors, and more. What do you think? Are you going to head out today to get all of the ingredients to make your waffle?
Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Waffle Bowl
- Waffle Mix
- Fillings: Fresh Fruit, Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Etc.
How To Make Air Fryer Waffle Bowl
Start by making your waffle mix, as directed on the box.
Then spray your mold with non-stick cooking spray or olive oil spray. Fill your mold (I found it easier after my 1st batch) to put the mold directly on the baking sheet, so it wouldn’t spill while moving it.
Put the tray into the air fryer oven, and set the temperature to 330 degrees F for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, check and add about 3-4 minutes more.
Transfer and flip over a muffin tin. When it cools, it will harden to a bowl form.
What To Fill Your Air Fryer Waffle Bowl With?
While today, I went with simple, fresh fruit and whipped cream filling. You can really add a lot of items to the center. Some of my favorite ideas are:
- Ice Cream Sundae (who said you couldn’t fry ice cream?)
- Eggs, Bacon, and Diced Ham (A breakfast scramble)
- Air Fryer Fried Chicken! A new twist on Air Fryer Fried Chicken!
