If you are looking for a lot of flavors, you really don’t need much. I used a simple bottle of Brown Sugar Bourbon, made by McCormicks, rubbed the pork roast down with olive oil, and slathered it on.
The rub includes many spices, including brown sugar, bourbon, molasses, red bell pepper, paprika, garlic, onion, and salt. It is the perfect seasoning for any pork roast air fryer dinner.

How To Make this Pork Roast Air Fryer Recipe
Step 1: Season the Pork Roast
Start by rubbing your pork roast with olive oil, and then rub the seasoning mix on top. Make sure it covers both the front and back.
Step 2: Cook Pork Roast
Place the seasoned air fryer pork roast into the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 350 degrees F on the air fryer setting for 40-50 minutes.
Then the secret to my recipe! As it cooks, I brush on olive oil and season it more every 10 minutes. This is how I get a great juicy pork roast with a crispy outer layer from the air fryer.
The exact time depends on what air fryer you own and how big your roast is. Larger roasts take longer to cook than smaller roasts.
Tips for the Best Pork Roast Recipe
- Brush with oil often so the roast comes out crispy on the outside and perfectly tender and juicy on the inside.
- Cook to temperature rather than following time guidelines exactly. Pork is safe to eat at 145 degrees F.
- Allow meat to rest before slicing. This allows the juices to settle within the roast so they don’t run out, and keeps each slice tender and juicy.
- Start with less seasoning, especially if you’re unsure about the spice level. You can always add more seasoning, but you can’t take the seasoning off if there’s too much.
Do I Cook Pork Roast Covered or Uncovered?
I usually cook my pork roast in the air fryer without foil. If you find that the top is getting too brown on top, but the bottom is not cooked, flip the roast so both sides get equally cooked.
This will really depend on your air fryer, so keep an eye on it the first few times you make it. This will help you understand how your particular model cooks this pork roast air fryer recipe.
Can I Use a Pork Loin with this Recipe?
If you want to air fry a pork loin, you can follow the same recipe, but you will need to adjust the cooking time.
Pork loin is a thinner piece of meat so the air frying time will be less. Cook to temperature rather than following an exact time for a perfect turnout, regardless of cut.
Can You Put a Roast in the Air Fryer?
Yes, a roast does really well in the air fryer, and this pork roast air fryer recipe is proof! Start a roast at a high temperature in a preheated air fryer, like 390 degrees F on the air fryer setting. Roast for about 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 360 degrees F until thoroughly cooked through.
Always use a meat thermometer to make sure that your roast is fully cooked. It is one of your best cooking tools.
Can I Cook a Joint of Pork in My Air Fryer?
Start by preheating your air fryer to 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, then place the pork inside (rind side up) and air fry until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
Always use a meat thermometer to make sure that your roast is fully cooked.

I got an air fryer lid for Christmas And was looking for ideas to make in it, other than vegetables.
This was delicious and moist. I cooked a 1 kg roast, 44 mins and it came out medium (just the way we like it). I let it rest for 5 minutes and the rest is history.
I used pampered chef garlic and herb rub.
