How To Make Air Fryer Italian Beef Stromboli

Step One: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. In a large bowl, mix the shaved steak with Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, lime juice, onions, and bell peppers until evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to an 8-inch baking dish..

Step Two: Place the baking dish in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes. Remove and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes while preheating the air fryer for the next step.

Step Three: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes. On a lightly floured wooden board, roll out the puff pastry sheet until smooth and even.

Step Four: Evenly spread the steak, onion, and pepper mixture over three-quarters of the puff pastry. Layer provolone cheese slices on top, then carefully roll the pastry tightly toward the empty edge.

Step Five: Brush the puff pastry with egg wash and sprinkle Montreal Steak Seasoning on top. Cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape. Place the stromboli seam-side down in the air fryer, cooking for 10 minutes, then carefully flip and cook for an additional 5 minutes until golden and crisp.

Easy Air Fryer Italian Beef Stromboli Recipe Tips
- Evenly slice the beef: Ensures quick, uniform cooking without overcooking smaller pieces.
- Don’t overfill the pastry: Keeps the stromboli from bursting while cooking.
- Seal edges well: Use a little water on the pastry edges to prevent leaks.
- Egg wash is key: Brushing with egg wash gives a shiny, golden, and crispy crust.
- Cut slits on top: Allows steam to escape, preventing soggy pastry.
- Check doneness: Cook until the pastry is golden brown and the beef is heated through.
- Customize fillings: Add mushrooms, banana peppers, or extra cheese for extra flavor.
Storing Instructions
- Refrigerator: Store leftover stromboli in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days.
- Freezer: Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, then freeze for up to 2 months.
- Reheating (Air Fryer): Preheat to 350°F and reheat for 5–7 minutes to restore crispiness.
- Reheating (Oven): Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes until warmed through and crust is golden.
