How To Make Air Fryer Garden Focaccia
Add the yeast, sugar, and water together in a large bowl, mix, and sit for about 10 minutes until the yeast starts to foam. Add 1 ¾ cup of flour to the yeast mixture, mix well, then mix in 3 tablespoons of oil. Mix until the batter is combined, then fold in the rest of the flour. If your dough is very sticky, add more to ¼ cup more.
Spray your baking pan with cooking spray, add your dough into the pan and flatten with your hands. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for about an hour. The dough will double in size, flatten again, and then use your fingers to poke holes in the dough.
Add the tomatoes, peppers, chives and make a flower with the rest of the vegetables. Set the temperature to 320 degrees F, air fryer setting, set the time for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the dough is fully cooked.
Ingredient Notes:
If you’re a cook, you know that ingredients are essential. But what do you do when you’re not sure about an ingredient? That’s where these notes come in. Here, we’ll take a look at some of the most common elements and offer some tips on using them.
Warm Water: If you want to ensure that your yeast is active and not stuck in a dormant state, it needs warm water. I recommend using a cooking thermometer to ensure that the water is between 110 to 115 degrees F. The warm water helps to dissolve the yeast and helps it foam.
Yeast: You can either use active dry yeast or rapid rise yeast. Either will work. The key is to ensure that the yeast foams; otherwise, the recipe will not work. Make sure that your yeast is fresh.
Granulated Sugar: Sugar helps to activate the yeast. You can also use honey or agave.
All-Purpose Flour: If you want to make this gluten-free, you can substitute the all-purpose flour for gluten-free all-purpose flour. The amount will remain the same.
Vegetables: I tried to make my Air Fryer Foccacia bread look like a garden, and I loved using fresh tomatoes and bell peppers for the flowers, but you can use any vegetables in season.
Make-Ahead Tips:
You can easily make this recipe ahead of time. Proofing the dough overnight is a great way to give it more time and let your taste buds enjoy something just right.
There are many benefits to proofing dough overnight. It allows the dough to rise, which results in a more flavorful bread slowly. The texture of the bread is also more consistent when you proof the dough overnight. Plus, it’s just one less step you have to do in the morning! Here’s how to prove your dough overnight to enjoy fresh bread tomorrow.
- Make the dough as directed in the recipe.
- Transfer the dough to a Ziploc Bag. or an airtight container. And placd into teh reigtgeorarr.
- When you are ready to make the bread, bring the dough to room temperature and then continue with the recipe.
How To Store
If you have any leftover focaccia, wrap it tightly in saran wrap and place it into the refrigerator. It will last for about 2 to 3 days.
You can either eat it cold or bring it to room temperature before eating it. You can toss it back into the air fryer to reheat it if you want.
How To Freeze Foccacia
If you’re like me, you probably have difficulty finishing a whole loaf of focaccia before it goes stale. But did you know that you can freeze focaccia and extend its shelf life by several days?
Here’s how to do it: wrap the cooled, unopened loaf in aluminum foil or freezer-safe plastic and store it in the freezer for up to three months. When ready to eat, thaw the focaccia overnight in the refrigerator and then reheat it in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for about 8 to 10 minutes.
