How To Make Air Fryer Big Mac Egg Rolls

Cooking ground beef with seasonings in a skillet until browned and fully cooked.

Step One: Prepare The Ground Beef Spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking. Heat over medium heat; Add the ground beef, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook beef until no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the meat, set aside, and let cool for a couple of minutes.

Combine cooked ground beef, minced onions, diced pickles, and shredded cheese to make the egg roll filling.

Step Two:  Prepare The Egg Roll Filing In a small bowl, combine the cooked ground meat, minced onions, and diced pickles. Mix well until combined, and slowly fold in the shredded cheese.

Place egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape, add beef mixture to the center.

Step Three: Prepare Your Egg Rolls On a flat, clean surface or cutting board, place the egg roll wrapper in a diagonal (diamond shape), and add 2-3 heaping tablespoons of beef mixture onto the center of the egg roll wrapper.

Step Four: Rolling from the bottom, roll halfway up, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Seal with a drop of water and set aside. You can either use a pastry brush or your finger to help seal. Continue to prepare the egg rolls until you use up your egg roll wrappers or filling.

Spray egg rolls with oil, sprinkle sesame seeds, and place in air fryer basket.

Step Five: Spray both sides of the egg rolls with nonstick cooking spray oil, or brush with olive oil. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Place egg rolls into the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer, be careful not to crowd your basket. If you have an air fryer oven, place them on the lowest tray in the air fryer.

Step Six: Air fry at 400 degrees F, and set the cook time for 7-10 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway through cooking. Remove from the air fryer. Serve with Big Mac Sauce or Thousand Island Dressing

Air Fryer Big Mac Egg Roll Recipe Tips

  • Use lean ground beef: Use ground beef to reduce excess grease and ensure a crispy texture.
  • Season well: Be sure to season the beef with salt, pepper, and your favorite Big Mac-inspired spices to replicate that signature flavor. Other seasonings to use are garlic powder, or onion powder.
  • Don’t overfill the egg rolls: Keep the filling at a manageable amount to prevent spillage while air frying.
  • Seal the edges tightly: Use a bit of water or egg wash to seal the egg roll wrappers so the filling doesn’t leak out.
  • Preheat your air fryer: Preheating the air fryer ensures even cooking and crispiness.
  • Spray with oil: Lightly spray the egg rolls with cooking oil for a golden, crispy exterior.
  • Parchment Paper: To prevent sticking, you can line your air fryer basket with parchment paper.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket: Arrange the egg rolls in a single layer for the crispiest texture.
  • Flip halfway through: Flip the egg rolls halfway through cooking to ensure even browning on both sides.

Storing

  • Storing: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. This will help keep them fresh without losing their crispness. To keep the egg rolls crispy, line the container with a paper towel.
  • Freezing: To freeze Big Mac Egg Rolls, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Then, transfer them to a freezer bag or container. They’ll last up to 3 months in the freezer.
  • Reheating: To reheat, place the egg rolls in the air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes, or until heated through and crispy again. You can also reheat in the oven by placing them on a baking sheet at 375°F for 10-12 minutes. Avoid microwaving to preserve the crispiness.
