How To Make Air Fryer Barbecue Roasted Mixed Nuts
Add your sweet paprika, salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and dried mustard powder in a small bowl. In another small bowl or cup, add your egg white, and using a fork, whisk until the egg white is frothy.
Pour your pecan halves, honey roasted peanuts, and almonds into a large bowl, and then pour the egg white in. Mix well, coating all of the nuts. Pour the spice mixture on top, covering all of the nuts.
Spread the covered nuts into the air fryer basket, and set the temperature to 315 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 8 to 10 minutes. Shaking frequently.
Pro Tips:
Nuts: You know what they say, “Use your favorite ingredients!” I chose these nuts because they are my favorite combination. But you can use any nuts that you enjoy!
Some great options are pecans, almonds, macadamia, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, pine nuts, and pistachios.
Egg White: The egg white is essential for this recipe since it coats the nuts and keeps the seasoning on them. So, mix the egg with a fork until it’s frothy in a small bowl.
Seasonings: Adjust the seasonings to your taste buds. Some may like it spicer than others. You can also use store-bought seasoning if you don’t want to mix and measure all seasonings. My favorite dry barbecue rubs are Char Crust, Jack Stack Barbecue Dry Rub Seasoning Mix, and Korean BBQ (All-Purpose) Korean BBQ Seasoning.
How Long Do I Roast These Mixed Nuts?
Mixed nuts are a versatile and healthy snack that people of all ages enjoy. They are perfect for parties, game day gatherings, or simply as a convenient and tasty snack to have on hand. But how long do you roast them for?
That question will depend on how many nuts you are roasting and what air fryer you use. The average time will take between 8 to 10 minutes. The secret is to shake the basket frequently during cooking, so all nuts are perfectly roasted.
How To Store:
We’ve got a few ways to store nuts so you can have them on hand for all your cooking needs.
One of the best methods is airtight containers, which help keep their flavor and freshness intact. Ensure there are no gaps in the lid and that it seals completely. Another option is keeping them in a cool, dark place like a cabinet or pantry—make sure they don’t get too close to anything with strong smells like onions or garlic! And lastly, if you want something more ornate but still convenient, try using decorative jars. The jar should be wide-mouthed enough for an easy grip when opening and closing; this will also let you put labels on the outside of the container.
Helpful Tools:
Air Fryer: Either use an Air Fryer Basket or Oven. One of my favorites is the Air Fryer by Instant Pot Vortex Plus Air Fryer Basket, which allows you to perfectly cook your smaller foods, and only need a shake every few minutes during the cooking process.
Tongs: If you use an Air Fryer Oven, you will need to use a pair of silicone tongs to flip the nuts about halfway during the cooking process. This will enable the nuts to be perfectly roasted.
