Air Fryer Apple Pie Pizookie Recipe
This is a recipe that has been in my family for years. We originally made it in the oven, but I knew it would be perfect for this recipe when I got an air fryer! The Air Fryer Apple Pie Pizookie is easy to make with your kids and can be served warm or cold. You don’t need any fancy ingredients, either.
What Is A Pizookie?
A pizookie is a dessert created by the owners of BJ’s Pizza in the 1980s. The original recipe included cookie crust, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate chips. The original recipe called for a chocolate chip cookie dough crust with pizza sauce filling and served warm from the oven.
In recent years, many variations have been developed, including some with white or dark brown sugar and those without ice cream.
Today, celebrating the fall, I made a simple Air Fryer Apple Pie Pizookie. All baked up in the Air Fryer! For a great and easy dessert that the entire family loved!
Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Apple Pie Pizookie

- Butter
- Granulated Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- Egg
- All-Purpose Flour
- Baking powder
- Apple Pie Filing
- Caramel Sauce
How To Make Air Fryer Apple Pie Pizookie

Beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy in a medium-sized bowl. Add the egg and continue beating until incorporated.

With the help of a wooden spoon, mix in the flour until you have a thick and creamy dough. Add the apple pie filling and fold it into the dough.

Divide the dough into two pieces. Line the air fryer basket with either parchment paper or a reusable silicone liner.
Transfer one of the cookie dough pieces to the air fryer basket and, with the help of your hands, roughly shape it into a large cookie. With a toothpick, swirl in the caramel sauce, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees F, air fryer setting, or until golden brown.

Air Fryer Pizookie Tips
- You will really need to line the basket with either parchment paper or a reusable silicone liner. Either will work.
- This recipe will work in either an Air Fryer Basket or Oven Model. You can also cook up this recipe in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, Instant Pot Crips Lid, and Mealthy Lid. The recipe will remain the same. The cooking time will vary.
- You do not need to preheat your air fryer before adding the dough. Cookie dough tends to cook more evenly with a cold air fryer.
- Remember to cook until the entire cookie is cooked. Since each air fryer is slightly different, continue to bake (air fry) until it’s cooked all the way through.

Do you love the air fryer apple pie pizookie but can’t finish it? With these tips, you’ll be able to store your leftovers and enjoy them again.
Here are some tips on how to store leftover air fryer apple pie pizookie:
- Store in an airtight container with a lid for up to 3 days.
- Keep refrigerated and use within 2-3 days.
- You can reheat this in the oven, air fryer, or microwave at 50% power until heated through (about 1 minute).

- Vanilla Ice Cream

- Ground Cinnamon, Nutmeg, or Allspice.
Air Fryer Pizookie Tools Needed
Air Fryer: This recipe will work in any Air Fryer, today I used my Air Fryer Basket model, but you can make the same recipe in any Air Fryer Basket, Air Fryer Oven, Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, and Mealthy Lid. The recipe will remain the same, but the cooking time will vary.
Parchment Paper: I highly recommend this over aluminum foil. Remember to make sure it’s fully weighed down so there is no fire risk. The newly available item, which I encourage every air fryer user to buy, is a silicone air fryer liner, which will reduce the chance of a fire occurring in your air fryer by using parchment paper.
