WHY MAKE SUGAR COOKIES IN THE AIR FRYER?
It’s time to get your air frying game on! You can make an entire batch of sugar cookies in the air fryer. The cookies are crispy, crunchy, and delicious. They’re also easy to make – you don’t need an oven or a stovetop! Give these a try for some winter baking this season.
As you start to use your air fryer more and more, you will really see how convenient it is. You can use the refrigerated dough or make your own down and freeze it. Then when you have a craving for some cookies, you can easily make any amount you want to. Clean up is so easy with the air fryer! And of course, you will save lots of time since you don’t even have to wait for your oven to heat up!
CAN YOU PUT PARCHMENT PAPER IN THE AIR FRYER?
When I started to bake in the Air Fryer,r the only option was parchment paper. But that was in the dark ages. Now they sell these reusable silicone liners, which are amazing!
A lot of readers were having trouble with the parchment paper catching on fire. So never, ever preheat with parchment paper in the air fryer. And always make sure that you weigh down your cookies, so there is no chance of the parchment paper hitting the heating elements.
WHAT’S THE BEST BUTTER TO USE FOR THESE COOKIES?
I am a big fan of cookies, and I am always looking for new ways to make them. It can be hard to find the best butter, but unsalted butter is my favorite butter to bake.
I tend to use Kerrygold but during the holidays and baking season. I buy a big old package from Costco, unsalted of course.
What Candy Can I Add To My Sugar Cookies?
Candy is a great addition to any cookie. But, what kind of candy should you add to your sugar cookies? You can try adding fruit-flavored jelly beans or chocolate-covered cherries. The possibilities are endless for the type of candies that you can add to create an amazing and delicious treat!
Some of my family’s favorites are:
- M&M’s
- Reese’s Pieces
- Snickers
- Twix
- Mars Bars
How can I add flavor to my sugar cookies?
Do you love sugar cookies but not the flavor? Here are a few tips to help make your sugar cookie more flavorful.
Add some vanilla extract or almond extract to taste. Vanilla is classic and goes well with chocolate chips or other sweeter ingredients, while almond extracts pair well with citrus zests like lemon or orange peel for a little extra freshness. Finally, think about what else you’re going to put on top of your finished cookie- frosting, sprinkles, nuts- and then toss in those same ingredients into the dough mix before it bakes!
How To Store Air Fryer Sugar Cookies
Cookies are a delicious treat that often get eaten before they have a chance to be stored. If you want to make these cookies ahead of time, just use an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag or Tupperware container with the lid on tight.
Then Store in a cool, dry place, like the fridge or freezer.
