How To Make Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies

Step 1: Melt the butter in a medium bowl and set it aside. In a separate large bowl, combine the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Whisk it together and set it aside.

Step 2: In the butter bowl, stir in apple pie spice, vanilla extract, and brown sugar until smooth. Then mix in the applesauce and egg until fully combined.

Step 3: Pour the wet apple mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until fully combined. Gently fold in the chopped apple pieces for added texture.

Step 4: Set your air fryer to 315°F on the air fryer setting and preheat. Line the basket with parchment paper, then use a small ice cream scoop or spoon to portion the dough into 2-inch cookie balls.
Step 5: Arrange each cookie dough ball on the parchment-lined basket, leaving 1½ inches of space between them to allow for spreading. You may need to cook in multiple batches—about six cookies fit at a time. Keep the remaining dough chilled in the fridge between batches. Air fry the cookies for 6–8 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Repeat until all cookies are baked.

Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies Recipe Tips
- Use slightly firm, chilled cookie dough for more even air frying and less spreading.
- Make sure the air fryer basket is lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Leave enough space between cookies so they bake evenly and don’t merge together.
- For extra flavor, lightly sprinkle cinnamon or sugar on top before air frying.
- Keep an eye on the first batch to adjust timing slightly depending on your air fryer model.
Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructions
- Storing: Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. This keeps them soft, chewy, and flavorful.
- Freezing: Freeze baked cookies in a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
- Reheating: Warm cookies in the air fryer at 320°F for 1–2 minutes for a fresh-baked taste. This restores their soft, chewy texture without overbaking.

- To make the icing, mix 1 cup confectioners sugar and 1 ½ tablespoons heavy whipping cream in a small mixing bowl.
Equipment
- Parchment Paper
- Cooking Spray
Notes
- You can refrigerate the dough before baking for about twenty to thirty minutes if you’re worried about the cookies being too thin or feel like the dough is not staying chilled enough (For example, if you’re in an extra warm climate.)!
- After cooking, these can be kept on the counter for up to 4 days or in the fridge for a week. These are so good, though; they generally don’t last more than a day or two! And, of course, you can freeze them for up to a month.
- These are deliciously glazed or not. For a different variation, you could even drizzle a little caramel on top instead of the glaze!
