Air Fryer Roasted Chestnuts

“Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire,” written by Nat King Cole, I explained to the cashier at my local grocery store. He was about 14 and seemed to think that I was crazy. But he asked me what they were, and I was like, did you ever hear the song? He said no. I guess I’m officially old…

Traditionally, you roast chestnuts in the oven. But today, equipped with my air fryer and several requests to do these, I completed them in under 15 minutes — much easier and faster than in the traditional oven.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to soak before roasting chestnuts?

It’s entirely up to you if you prefer to soak before cooking chestnuts. Many people choose to soak them for an hour in cool water because they will become a little softer. But it’s certainly not required.

Can I skip scoring the nuts when I roast chestnuts?

No! Please don’t skip scoring them. Otherwise, getting the shell off is going to be a long process!

How long do air fryer chestnuts last?

Remove the shells and place in an airtight container. The roast chestnuts will last around 4-5 days if kept in the refrigerator.

Additionally, you can freeze them for 5-6 months if they are kept airtight.

Do I need any special tools for roasting chestnuts?

Nope, all you need for these air fryer chestnuts is the air fryer and a sharp knife. They are truly that easy!
