Can You Freeze Air Fryer Copycat McDonald’s Apple Pie
Yes, after you assemble the pies, add them to a baking sheet, and pop the baking sheet into the freezer until they are frozen.
Then take them off the baking sheet, and place them in a Ziploc bag. Then when you are ready to eat them, either bake the apple turnovers or air fry them.
How To Keep Air Fryer Apple Turnovers From Leaking
This is a widespread problem. Since folding the edges, you will eventually run into the turnover that leaks.
My only suggestion is to crimp the edges with your fingers or a fork tightly.
Sometimes adding a small about of water will help the pastry stick together, so use a pastry brush to add a small amount of water to the edges.
How To Thaw Puff Pastry.
There are two ways to thaw puff pastry. I usually take it out the night before using it and defrost it in the refrigerator. If you are in a rush, the other way is to leave it on the counter and give it about 30 minutes.
Why Do I Spray the Pastry with Olive Oil?
The olive oil helps crips up the dough. You could also use an egg wash.
What Apples Are Best
There are so many apples that are great for baking. I usually use either Pink Lady, Granny Smith, or Bramley.
You want a firm apple that stays a bit crunchy after baking.
How To Store Air Fryer Copycat McDonald’s Apple Pie
To store these apple pies, let them cool to room temperature and place them in an airtight container. They will last in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days.
You can either reheat them in the air fryer or microwave.
