Panera Turkey Chili Copycat Recipe Tips

  • Customize the Heat: If you prefer a spicier chili, add extra chili powder, cayenne pepper, or diced jalapeños to the recipe for more heat.
  • Lean Ground Turkey: Use lean ground turkey for a healthier version of the chili, but feel free to opt for regular turkey for a richer flavor.
  • Veggie Boost: Add extra vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, or carrots for a heartier and more nutritious chili.
  • Cooking Time: If you like your chili thicker, allow it to simmer on the “Sauté” mode after pressure cooking to reduce and thicken the liquid.
  • Flavor Enhancers: Stir in a teaspoon of smoked paprika or a splash of apple cider vinegar at the end for added depth of flavor.

Storing

  • Storing: Allow the chili to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing: For longer storage, place the cooled chili in freezer-safe bags or containers, leaving room for expansion. Label with the date and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Reheating: From the Refrigerator: Warm the chili on the stovetop over medium heat, stirring occasionally, or microwave it in a microwave-safe bowl in 1-minute intervals, stirring in between. From Frozen: Thaw the chili in the refrigerator overnight, then reheat as above. For a quick option, heat directly from frozen on the stovetop over low heat, stirring frequently until warmed through.
