Easy Instant Pot Pork Fried Rice Recipe Tips

  • Use day-old rice if possible: It helps the rice stay fluffy and not mushy.
  • Prep all ingredients first: Pork, vegetables, and seasonings should be ready before starting.
  • High heat for sautéing: Ensures the pork and aromatics get good flavor.
  • Quick release is key: Prevents overcooking the rice while finishing the eggs.
  • Customize your veggies: Swap or add bell peppers, peas, carrots, or broccoli.
  • Adjust seasoning at the end: Taste and add extra soy sauce, salt, or pepper if needed.

Storing Instructions

  • Refrigerator: Store cooled pork fried rice in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days.
  • Freezer: Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
  • Reheating: Warm in a skillet or microwave, adding a splash of water or broth to maintain moisture and fluffiness.

Easy Instant Pot Pork Fried Rice Recipe Faqs

Can I use leftover rice instead of uncooked rice? Yes! If using leftover rice, skip the pressure cooking step and simply sauté the pork, vegetables, and rice together.

Can I swap the pork for another protein? Absolutely. Chicken, shrimp, or tofu all work well as substitutes.

Can I make this recipe vegetarian? Yes. Omit the pork, add extra vegetables or tofu, and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.

Can I add more vegetables? Definitely. Bell peppers, peas, carrots, or broccoli can be added for extra flavor, color, and nutrition.

How do I prevent the rice from becoming mushy? Use the correct rice-to-liquid ratio and perform a quick release to keep the rice fluffy.

How should leftovers be stored? Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat with a splash of water or broth to maintain moisture.

Can I prep ingredients ahead of time? Yes, but it’s best to cook fresh for optimal texture and flavor.
